I'm gla though the DA2 is closer to the layout of ME2 but at same time lies in MEs shadow. You gotta have great character build ups plot and romance. DA2 wasn't 110%

Yeah the constant battles was annoying its like a filler to use up time to lengthen out the game zzzz.
true I also noticed this, but on the bright side this is the first Bioware game where fighting is actually enjoyable, in every other game I just always tried top skip over it as fast as possible

I started my second playthrough a few days ago, but now I'm not really that interested in resuming it. The world of DA2 is just dead compared to Origins, and that's a major factor in my reluctance.

Nope, nadda chance. I was already bored and fatigued halfway through act 2.

The only real cause to replay this game as it seems to me may be to play with different DA1 saves transferred to see how the decisions of those effect your world, but that is not something DA2 can be proud of, as it just shows how much more Origins is compared to DA2
DA2 does have good things like ability to upgrade spells, friend/rival idea, or the better combat,
but it also took away most of what made Dragon Age enjoyable like heavy customization (including racial choice, ability to equip any armor or weapon and play outside the usual fantasy class restrictions, origin stories, the old upgrade system for runes, the ability to pick your own Coat of Arms for your shield, have a home you can actually customize a bit and upgrade as you want, and al ot more),
and it became too simplified (seriously its like a dumbed down single-player MMO system where your abilities do nothing more than decide what you have to improve to have the best damage output, where is your ability to make a good nimble mage, have any reason to create a strong rogue, or increase the attribute related to Intelligence/Wit/Wisdom of a warrior? To do so becomes worthless and has no benefit in the game. Let's not even mention the overly simplified talent trees which lost most of what was there in DA1 like majority of healing spells, this leads to having characters with two attributes around 50 while all others are around 12)

Don't get me wrong there are many aspects I enjoyed, Releaseing a toolset update would breath so much more life into this game. New quests, armor, romance modifiers, face morphing, those are things that would improve upon this game.
When I played Orgins I was excited to replay it again and again, I have more hrs clocked on that game than I am willing to admit.
I know these thing, or most of them have been stated again and again, hopefully the people that count are taking notice of these type threads.

Much more so than I replied Origins (two times all the way through, eight times with the extra size just trying out different origin stories and realizing they make little difference after the start of the game.)
I wanna try (at least) a Warrior-Templar
and Rogue-Duelist who tanks...
I think I can make it work. We'll see.

The moment I loaded the game - from the intro movie on - it feels like a better game. I do sorta miss the high-resolution textures, however.

Sad for DA 2. The true success of any RPG (be it traditional, action, what have you) is directly correlated to its replay factor.
Au Contraire.... The true success of any RPG is how many copies it sells... at least in the mind of the publishers.

Yeah you basically fight in front of Cullen and use magic, yet he talks about "They are not people like you and me" and you get the option "I am a mage myself". Oh, i am sure it was hard to notice...Cullen and the others must be blind.

so, it really is true that in the game where the treatment and future of mages is so important the game mainly ignores you if you are a mage yourself?
Looks to me the game story would have justified disabling the mage class as an option to be a lot more realistic than disabling the racial choices we had in DA1

I've just finished my first playthrough in 58 hours, with a few sidequests left behind (a couple of which bugged), and I can't see where the complains of other people have roots.. it is Dragon Age, but it's not Origins 2, and too many wanted that (even I would love a sequel to Origins).
Hawke's story, my Hawke's story, was well worth my time spent in it and all the money I've put into it!
