Sad for DA 2. The true success of any RPG (be it traditional, action, what have you) is directly correlated to its replay factor.

Au Contraire....  The true success of any RPG is how many copies it sells...  at least in the mind of the publishers.

Touche`.  I was speaking from the perspective of the game player, but you are right.

Trying to...So far playing a mage and having no one notice that I AM A MAGE really shatters immersion for me.

:(

so, it really is true that in the game where the treatment and future of mages is so important the game mainly ignores you if you are a mage yourself?

Looks to me the game story would have justified disabling the mage class as an option to be a lot more realistic than disabling the racial choices we had in DA1

Pretty much...Except for  a couple of dialogues with Carver and some people mentioned Meredith as well...Really shocks me that a game where basically main idea is MAGES VS. TEMPLARS and I am completely ignored when I am an apostate myself. This sort of thing once again proves points of a lot of people who complained that this was a rushed production. If they took their time and conducted a proper quality assurance and other testing then I am sure this would have been avoided. :(

I guess there is nothing to do but create "imaginary" lines for myself. That just sounds awful...<_<

The simple answer is no. There is no point to it as there was with DA:O.

it feels more and more like developers and releasers (not specificly Bioware) think that customers are fools only good for beta testing,
this is like a supermarket trying to sell you a repacked half bottle of milk for the same cost as a premium french/italian/hungarian wine, ah and you would have to test it yourself if the milk is past its consumability, ah and you could only do that once you paid for the bottle of course

Of course I'll replay it, if only to experience the magic of Act II again.

Already on my 2nd Playthrough as Mage, 1st was Warrior. Going Sarcarstic this time.

So far I don't think I can go through the 3rd play through - for the Aggressive play through.

Since Warrior/Rogue as the same story path, 2 play through is all I need anyways.

nope,  i cant change anything major but only small things. it does not worth to go through the same dungeons over and over again

Already am doing a replay, going for a completionist run this time though. Mage so far has been the most fun, but sword and board is a little better than it was in origins. I am kind of disappointed that the dw warrior is out, but it makes sense in the long run.

I'm currently playing 4 playthroughs nearing one another. Then after all of that I want one last playthrough where I do very little in the way of impacting the world: no helping companions and avoiding trouble if I can, I'm curious to see what Bioware anticipated.

Great way to do this is to go from Low Town to High Town directly.  Just walk forward few steps on each zone in and you trigger conversation.  The steps at Low Town and the Plaza in high town are both triggers.

Though it won't trigger all the conversations (Some seems location dependent) you can use this to go thorugh most of them and then can get the rest traveling around.

No. I cannot get through the first time. I am going back to Dragon Age Origins which I play through over and over. :)

I already am and will most likely play it 3 or 4 times. Not in a row of course but over the period of a few months.

I'll replay it, but not for a while...

...first I'll go thru DA:O, it's dlc, and DA:A to play it in order...by that time I'm hoping the disappointment in DA2 will have diminished some and I can look at it w/fresh eyes.

Here's hoping it'll be better the second time around.

I've beaten it once as a mage, got a sword and shield warrior on act 3 and a duel-weapon rogue on act 2, have to switch between the 2 depending if my husband is home, he hasn't finished the game yet and I'd hate to spoil it for him O_O!

I'm replaying it, just to make absolutely sure that it's really as disappointing as I first thought.

So far, it is. :(
