I never even saw him in the start of ACT 2, where do i have to go to find him?

A quest in Act one called 'Bait and Switch'. A dwarf named Anso gives it to you a night in Lowtown.

If you miss doing Bait and Switch then you lost him as a companion that run.

****....also to get the 50% friendship the bar needs to be in the middle or in the middle of the friendship....don't know if that made any sense...lol

Yes it has to be there and that will trigger "Questioning Beliefs" with all your companions, and an opportunity to push it even further. (Conversely, I believe this is so with Rivalry too)
