And what do I get? Meh maybe some crappy loot, meh maybe some small amount of money and well yeah...
Dragon Age: Origins felt more epic, killing a dragon felt more epic and you got something pretty good and somewhat satisfying after killing them.
But the more I think about it the more I am upset that the Bioware went all out lazy and sloppy on this one, yes its not easy to develope games of this scale but seriously come on now what does this make people feel about future titles?
So I've killed some dragonlings, Dragons and etc

Dude, I killed a dragon and got elfroot from its body once in DA:O.
Alternatively, the mature dragon in the Deep Roads drops part of an armor set while the High Dragon fight is much more demanding than the one in DA:O.

The first time I killed the dragon I was like, "This is it?" Cuase I didn't notice the armor drop. I swear it got auto put on me instead. Though yah I'm realy missing the old days of big loot drops. I think they did this on purpose so you wouldn't end with way to much cash.

The high dragon drops the champion armor chest piece. I think the battle was harder than DA:O. Now you do not get riches beyond your dreams, but you do get the iconic armor.

The feeling isn't there? I just fought the Mature Dragon on Nightmare and that was an intense fight. I wouldn't compare it to the high dragon fight from Origins but then again, it wasn't a high dragon. It was still an epic fight. The Mature Dragon dropped special loot. And the normal dragons didn't even drop loot other than "dragon scale" in Origins except for maybe twice that I can remember? The Ageless sword at the throne of Orzammar and there was a loot pile after the one in the elven ruins that had a special bow.

But in DA:O I'll say that the dragon in the elf temple was pretty easy to defeat yet you get an immense amount of treasure. It doesn't add up really.
I kinda like the treasure piles from DAII. I never used a healing mage after act 1, I never purchased any weapons or armor except the armor upgrades for the NPCs. I bought as many potions as I wanted and never ran out of money....I'd rather have important treasure like the chest armor piece and nice rings and amulets.

The High Dragon fight in DA:O felt more epic than the one in DA2?.... Uhm the one in DA:O was complete and utter tank and spank. At least the one in DA2 was spiced up by adds and actual difficulty. Felt like a far greater achievement killing the one in DA2, than the one in DA:O even though there was better loot from the one in DA:O.

My only question is when can you do this fight? Cause I seen it mention doing it after some of the other main fights almost to the end of the act. (not fully finished with my first play through cuause of errors in missing alot of content). Just hopeing it drops where you can actualy use it for a good part of the act and not at the very end and only for one or two fights.RazorrX wrote...

If you've done the chain so far, you can go to it right after Act 3 starts.likeorasgod wrote...

You can fight the High Dragon at the beginning of Act 3. If you did the Bone Pit jobs as part of Act 2, Hubert offers you a quest called Mine Massacre.
If you didn't, just leave the city and head to the Bone Pit. The dragon will be here.
