When you really, TRULY need an answer

To the latest round of arrivals.  Please don't waste your time worrying about the same antiquated old questions all over again, at least not UNTIL AFTER YOU SEARCH.  FYI, when it is actually available, the Search function offered here is basically broken.  Use a professional Search, but add a redirector criteria.

site:social.bioware.com

Also, please do not skip over the Original Posts in the Forum's Stickies (Pinned up at the Top).  Once you have seen what has already been discussed, if you still have to know more, follow Raen Imrahl's guide to reporting.

PLEASE, let's *NOT* keep on wasting the time, space, and frustration.  Incidentally, when you are completing a problem report after a Search didn't get you the help you sought, please say that you have in fact tried to search.

Don't forget, the game is over a and a half year old now (OK, nearly two years), and the experienced game players are fewer these days, plus they are more easily jaded by the old & often repeated same things, so getting answers to the repeats is certain to be far less successful now.  Besides which, almost anything that could have gone wrong has done so by now, and will be found in the archives.

The present difficulty with the online reverification of DLC authenticity is not a new situation. It's always been happening on occasion, and AFAIK, the fixes for it have remained the same ever since it first cropped up.

Summer is here, the majority of the members are outdoors, doing all kinds of warm-weather things. They aren't here, reading the questions, so you need the archives and the Stickies more than ever from now until next September.

P. S. (Edited six hours later) Actually, I've ended up being surprised by the overall slowness of everything on the forums other than the ME-3 forums.  I'd thought that the really quiet weekend we just passed through was something like a July 4th falling on a Monday or Friday, really especially inviting in the out of doors activities, but here it is early on Wednesday AM, with the same very slow message traffic rate still continuing.  It's winter in the southern hemisphere, so THEY are supposed to pick up some of the slack . .

Where are all of the Ozzies?

By 2:00 PM, CDT, the traffic finally picked up a little.

Wednesday afternoon and Thursday ended up being literally the only days all week with much message traffic anywhere on the several PC Tech forums, and today looks to be running slow already, as if it was already a Saturday.

As I commented at about lunch time (my time, CDST), Sami Jo is soldiering on, gamely repeating herself, over and over. There are stickies on top. There is a SEARCH, but use Google instead. There is a "Read First" post describing what to do when you have a technical problem. Don't waste the forum's resources.

Sadly, those to whom this thread is directed are the least likely to read it. Though it does make me wonder how folks can miss the 12+ DLC threads on the first page alone to dig up several month old threads with no information just to complain and say, "Me too! Grrr!"

Weird, isn't it? "Selective blindness"!

I've seen another odd reading comprehension problem, when the answer an OP asked has been given, but the latest comment added is postulated as if the thread wasn't already concluded, either answering all over, or chiming in with another useless Me too".

For about a week now, I'd estimate that 90 to 95% of the first posts have all been about things thoroughly covered in various stickies pinned on top, mostly those same old tired repeats about DLC. Ever so boring!

We're now in a third week straight of the same thing. All of the DLC buyers seem to be arriving wearing multiple layers of blindfolds, and missing everything that's here waiting for them.

The situation that applied when the original message here (above, with an edit, and I'll tinker with the original as well momentarily) was first posted six or seven months ago, has not changed.  Too many new arrivals are wandering in wearing multiple layers of blindfolds, which is a real shame.

Repeats of the same old, really old, questions ~ ~ are boring, uninteresting, tiring for the few readers on hand to want to read again. If you don't really want an answer, that's the best way to do it. Otherwise, use the resources that are available (Stickies, archives).

Although there has been some increase in message traffic as the weather slowly changes from pleasant to ordinary, today marks the typical start of a weekend's slowdown, and it is worth noting that the message traffic is very heavily biased to the same old frequently asked things, without Sami Jo's presence to keep on pointing the new arrivals at the Stickies.  She was kind to the boring ones over the summer, but is back to work now that her University classes are busy again.

Raen Imrahl is also very busy this semester, although we've exchanged PMs regarding a reconsolidation of the too-many Stickies now up there, and he hopes to make time to handle it.

It appears that all of the forums on this site that I have made any point of keeping track of, with the sole exception of the ME-3 General Subjects forum, have died. It has been normal for such forums to become very lightly used during the good weather of summer, but they usually would build back up during October and November.

This year, the forum popularity has remained very low right into December. There just isn't much of anyone around to read any new questions.

Therefore, the archives, and the Stickies become the most important things; for any new arrivals still hoping for direct answers, if you really want help, remember that data in will equal data out. Fill in a proper problem report, or resign yourself to being ignored.

No substantive improvements in readership overall, so rely on site resources, but use a professional Search, not the site's own crippled Finder.

When you do not want to do your own part here in a user to user forum (per the "Read First" sticky), just post something else, somewhere else, and spread your ill-will in there, but not here.

Well if somebody just asks...link them to the answer they are looking for, I mean not you, but the people that actually know if something has been said before.

Or simply state that it has been already adressed before and tell them to make a search on the spot, most people are unlikely going to read this thread anyway. I know it is annoying to spoonfed new users but hey it is the only way I think they will do stuff.

If I recall correctly, a member had been uncooperative and gotten vulgar, when no moderator was at hand to respond in a timely fashion, so since I already wanted a thread similar to this one updated, I chose my last comment's contents to suit that particular member's bad attitude.

We still need to keep on reminding new arrivals that responses are slowed because of rather few old-timers being on hand any more, so the Archives & Stickies are the best way to get answers. If they don't want to do that, they must still follow the "Read First" guide. Definitely.

There still is almost no one visiting this forum with much of any experience playing the game. EA Help is still the official support, and the stickies on top still cover 95% of all the problems, if you pay attention to them.

Nothing has changed significantly, with the exception of greatly slowed server response times because of activity related to ME-3.

Take advantage of the data in the stickies and the archives!

Same as the past 11 months, no real change, few readers, no official oversight, etc.  C'mon, USE the freaking stickies, why won't you?

The good weather has arrived, the few visitors here with gaming experience in this game are now elsewhere.  The Archives and Stickies are where the available resources are now.
