Be fair...she's only part way into act 2.

Fenris does come across as emo, making dramatic statements about his past chasing him. Come on...you walk out of Denarius' house and he's standing there, arms folded, one foot up against a wall, and broodingly launches into some exposition of his unhappy past without even waiting for a prompt.

Anders does come across as angsty possessed mage. Flirt with him and it's "Noo, I'll only hurt you." Or if he flirts with you instead, and you pick a neutralish "It's...unexpected" reply, he acts like you're trying to get him into bed already and AGAIN is't "Noo, I'll only break your heart!" XD

That's not much for the OP to go on. But as interesting as I personally find the characters (romanced Fen), they are pretty doom and gloom for much of their initial conversations with Hawke.

Maybe it's just a question of where did all the light-hearted or non-angsty romances go? *shrug*

We'll play fair once she does. ;) Stopping in the middle of a movie or book and criticizing to its developers isn't fair in the least. You didn't give the game its chance to tell its complete story.

18 male, single, no children!

I agree Fenris was too broody, but he was an interesting character.

Isabela, she's shallow at first but if you actually romance her, she turns out to be a decent person.

Merrill is likable but sometimes seems a bit stupid...

Anders just too broody in Act 3.

While you may not like them for their appearance or their personalities, that's your problem. I think they're all well written characters.

I do love it when we can all work out our differences for a good cause.

Well said, David. I feel there are many things wrong with DA2, but the characters and writing are not part of it. They actually make the game bearable.

And thank you thank you THANK YOU for making the LI's accessible to us gay types. You don't know what that means to us after the debacle of ME2.

I'd like to say that I'm a gay female gamer and I absolutely loved the Isabela romance. At the begining of the game I was disapointed with the romance options and strarted one only to get the achievement. By the end of act 3 I was deeply impressed by her character develpoment and how the romance with Isabela grew to be so serious. She really grows as character through all of the acts. Once I actually got to know the companions through missions and personal quests I adored them all.
