what happened to the strong romance characters we had? why do we have to choose between a tavern ho and an immature girl ? you should have given at least one more option. Is it because you were too busy too put other romances in the game? i dont think you addressed your player base correctly in this game bioware.
I apologize. We should only put romances into our game that everyone in our player base will like. I'm certain there's a formula for making a romance interest universally appealing, and clearly we need to stick to it. We'll do better next time, I promise.

How hard could it be?
Just spend 20 years and 200 million and it's done!

At the rate everyone seems to be going on about it around here, you might as well just put voiceless blue and white checkered cubes in next time (hey look companion cubes!). That way everyone can be upset.
I thought you guys did and have done, a pretty good job in DA II and in other Bioware games. Oh well.

Wait a second. There -was- at least one more option. In fact, without DLC, there were two more options.

I thought you guys and gals did a fantastic job with the romances for this game and in DA:O. This series is the first one where I have actually liked all the romance options. Isabela and Merrill are much more complex than they appear at first, same goes for Anders, Fenris and Sebastian. I loved discovering their personalities as the game unfolded, especially Isabela because she really surprised me a few times by doing the exact opposite of what I expected her to.

Isabella and Merriel behaved exactly as I expected them to behave... which isn't a good thing.

yeah but you can give this answer for every complain. It is not a lie that compared to other games there is much more negative reaction to DA2 and denying that wont bring you anywhere. Also it is funny to see some people jumping on every threat to defend david. he does not need your help.

They're defending him because they agree with what he said. They're allowed to share their opinion.
I'm not sure why you'd expect Bioware to cater to you when you immediately dismiss one of the options for being a "taven ho".

If you aren't going to pay attention to character development, how can you even share your opinion? Isabela is a delight. Utterly scandalous but does have a heart of gold. Merrill is naive, not immature. And why not? She has spent her entire life amongst her people who hated her. Shy and defenseless, she is dependent. It all makes sense. Each character behaves accordingly. These are strong characters and terrific romance stories if you even tried.
Don't bash Bioware for not putting your "ideal" woman into this game. I'm afraid to figure out what you consider a strong romance.

It is not a lie that compared to other books, there is much more positive reaction to the Twilight series, and denying that won't bring you anywhere.
That makes it objective fact: Twilight better novels than A Song of Ice and Fire.
Consensus!

Come on, at least 90% of straight male gamers will find either one attractive and/or a suitable partner for Hawke. I'd say that's pretty good. Compare this to KotOR, where you had only one real (albeit unforgettable) romance option per sex. Bald catwomen don't count.

Dwarves. Dwarves are smexy, and aren't likely to frolic.
Elves are a little cliche by this point. I like the fact that they live in ghettoes, but you haven't gone nearly far enough. They still feel treehuggy, not downtrodden.
I really liked Sigrun, While one could say she was a dwarven-ish Merril (perky young lady cliche) it was... different.
I liked Aveline, she's a great character that isn't prone to falling all over me. Oh no, can't bed everyone I've talked to!

I thought Merrill grew up with the Dhalish? They certainly did not hate her, nor did she have enough contacts with humans to live amongst those who hated her.UltiPup wrote...

She tried to fix the mirror (after DAO Origin) and was contacted by a Demon. Believeing she can control the demon and not be controlled in return (she had the conversation saying I know what the dangers are, it won't happen to me) she took the deal. Learned Blood Magic in an attempt to cleanse the mirror.
When her actions came to light she became ostricized.
Though she was never social to begin with, she is definitely NOT naive. She may be ignorant of the interactions of the world, she is not ignorant of right and wrong. She simply have the mentality that children have - I am invincible, what I do cannot be wrong. Which caused the death of her entire clan (in one possible outcome, which happened to me. I didn't think telling the truth would be a point of no return.)
Even after the death of her entire clan, she still cannot take resposnbility and say I put us on this path. Instead she wails on the fact that why didn't the people listen to her. She still believes she is the center of the universe and that people should bow to her whims instead of her listening to those who are older and wiser. That is teenager immaturity at its best.
That is exactly what she was in the beginning, and that is still what she is at the end. There is little to no growth. At least in my play through.

Isabela is a strong woman. She likes sex and she won't conform to society's double standards about men and women and sex. She's also captain of a ship of men. Isabela is really one of the most strong and liberated female characters Bioware has created.
This I agree with. So much. It's sad that all some people see is a sl- ...a harlot. Probably because of said double standards.

There were 3 male choices in DA2 but if you're a straight guy then that doesn't count. Since Sebastian was a DLC then why not add a few female LI's for DLC? Otherwise this game was good.
Don't like the limited companion armor customization though. That was crap. Much better in DAO. And the female armor wasn't sexy enough. We play video games for VISUAL entertainment and because we can choose a story to watch that is usually better than television. Not being able to stick the Blood Dragon Armor on your tank whilst you're playing a mage is a waste and not being able to put your LI in something more appealing is also a waste. Otherwise we give this 2 thumbs up.
