Just saying, I'm around 15 hours in and I really don't think I've seen even one...

Conspiracy? :innocent:

You know ... I have beaten the game, and I can't recall having every seen one either. Weird.

Edit: I really hate that mangiraffedog guy. Why hasn't he been banned, locked, and nuked from orbit yet?

I think the reason for few Dwarves is because the only Big known Dwarven Kingdom right now is back in Ferelden. In Kirkwall you are far removed from any current Dwarven area. That would also explain why you don't see Genlocks, are there are no available Genlock Broodmothers around to generate them.

Maybe they'll appear in a DLC - Dwarven women fight back - Short women with axes, kneecaps in peril.

Or they're all too busy smacking Oghren around.

But there's a fair amount of male dwarves...

I dunno, just thought it was a bit of a waste of the re-design not to have any!

Your avatar says you're biased. ;)

But I agree. More female dwarves, please. And why design Qunari women and then deny them to us?

Yes, it'd be nice to get rid of him.

Just look for Dwarves running around with no beards but huuuuuge sideburns. Those are your female dwarves.

Darn right I'm biased! I'm pretty much a living version of DA Dwarves, so I'm rather protective.

And with you on the Qunari women. Though I guess we know less of them, so they can surprise us with them later.

Qunari women can't be fighters of any type, they get to stay at home and cook stuff. The ship that crashed in Kirkwall was a warship, meaning no women. Short of Par Vollen we won't see Qunari women. As to the dwarf women thing, as a fan of Dwarves I was ticked at the lack of dwarf women, they go so far as to give a bunch of dwarves a female elf nanny to get around using dwarf women. Yes while we are away from Kal-Sharak which is about as far from Orlais as Orzammar is from Denerim thedas has a good population of surface dwarves, decended from those that took every exit they could from the deep roads with the darkspawn first over ran them.

So unlike tolkin's world, the dwarves should be there.

Do female Dwarves ever go to the surface? The only surfacers in DAO were male to my memory, I don't think you see any female warriors in the final battles against the arch demon either.

It seems that for the vast majority females don't go to the surface period.

No wonder the Qunari are so dour then, women can liven a place up, they should have brought some Qunari women with them, maybe we would have seen just how brutal their woman can be, if they are.

I'm surprised that female Hawke doesn't comment on the lack of Qunari females in the Qunari enclave -

"So where are all the women?"
"Home"
"Oh, so no wild parties, no celebrations?"
"No"
"Pity. Hey, Merri, show them a little leg"
"Hubba"

You're telling me all the Qunari in Kirkwall came from the crashed dreadnought? Must have been a huge ship...

They keep blocking his accounts but he keeps making new ones. He may be the most persistant troll knwn to man, aka the archtroll.

Thats what dreadnoughts are, huge ships. Usually the biggest and most heavily armed in the fleet.

They just stay in their underground cities, and never venture outside. It's another bold move to make the franchise different from LotR.

Image IPB

edit: ok, more serious explanation is, there's no art assets for female dwarves in DA2 files. They're quite likely another corner cut to push the game out of the doors fast enough.

They're there, they just know their place: the smithy.

Now that you mention it, it is kind of strange that there isn't a single female dwarf in DA2. Maybe it's another thing they didn't have time to code.

In DA1, while it seems like most of the dwarven Nobles are male, there are definitely female smiths and warriors. And plenty of female carta members. It doesn't make sense that there wouldn't be any female dwarves on the surface.

Female Qunari are the administrators/bureaucrats in that society. The soldier class is all male.

Lies! There's definitely surface females in DA:O. Felsi, for one very prominant example, and lots of others wandering Thedas. Just a shame that's been changed really.
