We all know how powerful mages are in a AOE situation, but whats the best single target spells a mage can use?

actually pretty impressive, if your talking about a follower, stone fist + chain lightning + mastery, spirit bolt, that cold one and to top it off crushing prison. there is also a hex that can stun + provide damage every second that impressive when not vs a boss

I think that would be Crushing Prison, it hurts, it slows movement and slows attack speed (both a 40% chance I believe), improved it can also paralyze and does more dmg against staggered targets, allot of effects in one spell

I remember the numbers on Horror with the upgrade being really high, but I haven't actually tested it in practice.

If you're looking at the Horror upgrade Despair, with X damage per second, that's incorrect. That's the total damage it does over 10 seconds.

Winter's Grasp seeme like it may be the best.  My highest with it so far was about 833 on Anicient Rock Wraith.


But on average Winter's Grasp seems to get good dmg no matter what the enmey is.  Plus it all depends on magic score.
