In act II there is a mage standing in Darktown called Jake the Black and i've still not figured out what he's there for. Anybody got any insight?

I was wondering this myself. I've also found a woman, name starts with an S but I cant remember it, in the docks, surrounded by guards, who appears to not be related to anything.

He's for a quest where you hunt down three apostate/blood mages in Act 2 if I remember right. Him, a guy on the Wounded coast and ...someone else I don't recall.

yea my first game I kind of went blind. My second run I made different choices and I remembered that DAO had some chanter board quests. Decided to check it in DA2 and there were a few.

i think they replace the railroad quests if you dont let the starkhaven mages escape

Remeber that certain quests are only avaliable if you side with a particular "faction" (mage/templars) and some quests also depends on choices made in earlier acts. Like if I kill a certain guy in act 1 he won't be involved in a quest in act 2, cause he is dead.

There is a quest called "Sketchy on the Details" that appears on the chanters board. (Don't know what event/faction causes it to appear. Anyways you have to find some assasins that are looking for a particular mage.
