You must have the console enabled.

You do NOT need the outdated, obsolete additems.erf as originally mentioned in the first post.

You MUST have the original vaddi from the very first post of this thread also installed. Place BOTH vaddi.erf AND vaddi_Oct2011_v2b.erf into your My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\packages\\core\\override folder.

Run the game.
Press the key to open the console.
Type runscript vaddin sword
You SHOULD see a list of items with the letters "sword" in their name, such as Qunari Sword.

Could someone explain briefly to me what I need to do? I'm looking for an armor piece which I missed in a quest. Now, I downloaded the vaddi.zip file and it's only got one file vaddi.erf, I put it in C:\\Users\\(Name)\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\packages\\core\\patch but what next? Everyone says they searched for keywords of the items that they are looking for, but how and where did you type the name for it? Thanks in advance, hopefully someone will reply.

not sure if this was covered or not i did not see it on the posts i saw but here are tips for those with the gamestop app DL of DA2

for those that downloaded from gamestop app i found a few things out.
all the methods on the http://dragonage.wik...(Dragon_Age_II) site all work but you need to do all three the .xml file, the shortcut, and the keybinding.
to get to the .xml its in the C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts (this is also the place to up the additem mod or vaddi mod.
next is bind to the F6 or F11 but remember you will need to put F LOCK!!!!! on (spent 3 hours tring diff things before it hit me)
easy way to get to the c:/ is to use the openfolder option on the gamestop app.

place both vaddi and vaddi update in the override folder and it sould work just remeber about that F LOCK key.

Hello just wondering if there is a way to spawn the "Might of the Sten" Greatsword that was only available through the Signature Edition of the game. I know that other DLC/Promotional items are spawnable. Thanks!

Exactly what are you typing?

Do you have a screenshot?

The script searches for the name of items. Each search is separate. IIRC there was some functionality to search types but it was wonky. Instead, use the item database wiki to search for whatever item you want and then search for it in game: "runscript vaddin ItemName", without the quotes and where ItemName is the item you are looking for.
