I mean really, Sonic is cool and all, but why BioWare?

Based on how active this forum is. I'm guessing that it probably costed them more to produce the game than they made selling it.

Probably because Sega paid them to make it. This game isn't the greatest but it is about as good as an RPG based on Sonic the Hedgehog is going to get.

I was really shocked when I heard BioWare was working on this I was like 'Really, Sonic the Hedgehog and BioWare??? Those two things don't seem to mix.' But I gotta say it turned out better than I expected I actually think it's a good game, but then again I am a hardcore Sonic fan and I've loved all the games in the series no matter the genre, plus I love RPG's so I figure the two together did end up pretty well for me.

I just got the game, and I have to say its actually pretty awesome...Im not a big Sonic fan, honestly, my reason to buy it was that said Bioware in the box, and well, the fact that it was very cheap, haha.

As the story goes Ray and Greg, the two co-founders of Bioware (per chance, luck or destiny?) ran into the boss of SEGA in an airport when they were away on a business trip. They talked, and talked, and before you knew it, Bioware decided to make a Sonic - the hedgehog game for the Nintendo DS, I think?

I also think that Bioware wanted to get into the market for Nintendo games, getting new (young) fans so to speak. Bioware made an Iphone game also, Mass Effect: Galaxy, I think. It is not very good, I've been told, but I do think that Bioware learned a lot making both the Sonic game and the Mass Effect Galaxy game.

Edit:
By googling I've found this:
http://www.gamespot....ws/6172914.html

and then this:

http://ds.ign.com/ar...8/798275p1.html

In here Ray Muzyka, one of the co-founders of Bioware said:

As huge fans of Sonic ourselves, we're committed to delivering a truly amazing story-driven experience within the Sonic universe, focusing on capturing the character's broad appeal and placing him in a completely original adventure.

And maybe, just maybe, money - back before Bioware was sold to EA, Ray and Greg were always away, I think, looking for money for the next project, game, they needed to make.

Last time I checked Wikipedia (don't judge me), it said BioWare are good fans of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Does that help?

I got a bit tired of it after beating it 3 times, and collecting everything.

Only so much one can do with games like Sonic that have their roots in video arcade systems.

I still play it off and on, and really enjoy it. If done well, I enjoy established game universes reimagined.

Yeah I mean if it's done well, it's totally fine to take a detour. Early Bioware had lots of more experimental stranger stuff like MDK and such.

Honestly I think as to why Sonic and all that apparently the original founders were fans of Sonic and all that and ran into the creators of Sonic or something like that.

I was going to try Mass Effect: Galaxy, a lot of people were saying no no but I'm like eh I've seen that about too many games that ended up being fun.

I think Galaxy has something to do with Cerberus so I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

(I just posted in a Sonic forum. God help me.)
