Its very similar to vanguard 2h domination build with a few tweaks... please keep in mind, this particular build is untested as i am trying to figure out my nightmare build. i do plan on following the original until i kill the high dragon

this one can be found here http://social.biowar...6096/11#6586154

keep in mind, i get a lot of stats from my gear

Lvl 23 Warrior

Attributes:
Strength -> minimum to wear gear
Dex -> all that remains
Magic -> none
Cunning -> none
Willpower -> enough to reach 215 mana
Constitution -> enough to reach 350+ hp

Skills:
2h -> all except shattering blow and tornado  (8)
battlemaster -> fully upgraded 2nd wind (4)
Templar -> Annulment, righteous smite (6)
Reaver -> blood frenzy (1)
VanGuard -> Upgraded might or control, Upgraded Cleave, Destroyer, Massacre (7)

on my next run through, i intend to get ~90% critical rate, or 100% with control... im leaning torwards might due to the fact that the bursts would do so much more damage (+25% crit damage is nice) but i would like to see my normal attacks hit more often and 100% crit rate is always nice to see.

Party:

*Varric:
high damage output and my aggro management. His AoE attacks are awesome for keeping weaker ads at bay, just be careful with them.
defence stradegy is to have Armistice on tactics to the easiest player to die and to use back to back to get out of the way.

Stats: Cun 40, Con 30, Dex remainder
Skills:
Bianca: All except the exploding arrow upgrade
Marksman: All except overtime
Scoundral: Upgraded Armistice / Goad / back to back and blindside
(haven't figured out what to do with the last point yet)

*Anders:
Support character. i have tactics set to turn on my sustains and certain mana levels, trying to cheat the system a bit there. 25% armor from rock armor was too good to pass up for me
defence strategy is to use mindblast when attacked by melee, rock armor when attacked by ranged and use barrier when getting out of dodge is impossible

Stats: enough magic for gear, rest will and con
Skills:
Creation: The whole lot
Vengence: Aid Allies, Regroup and swift justice
Primal: Rock armor
Spirit: Dispel
Arcane: Upgraded Mind Blast, Crushing Prison and Barrier

*Beth:
Damage Dealer, i felt an extra heal and haste would be better than -25% damage reduction and 100% chance to crit personally since my 2 highest damage dealers hit crictals most of the time and beth has low crit damage %.
defence strategy is the same as anders with no barrier

Stats: Magic (priority), will / con equal shares
Skills
Creation: Upgraded heal and Swift
Primal: All except desiccate and strikes twice
Spirit: Spirit bolt
Elemental: winters grasp
Arcane: Elemental weapons, Upgraded mindblast and crushing prison

You might wanna change yer last companion (Beth) with another mage. I don't want to spoil it for you, but change her.

i haven't tried using her in a party, but does she leave you even if you take her to the deep roads?

She leaves the party either way. How she leaves and in what context she leaves is up to you.

*spoiler warning*

She dies if you take her to deep roads from blight, if you don't she is send to the circle, i havent played further than this on my warrior, but i imagine if you side with mages later at final showdown she will help you fight the knight commander as a npc, like Carver did for me when played my mage.

Either way you won't see her again after act 2 until final battle.

Seeing as you seem to have a dps party lined up you'd probaly want to take Merril instead and dumb alot of points in primal i think it is and elemental for bombing, to deal quickly with the major enemy flood waves, so you can focus on picking out the rest after with remaining.

She won't nessarily die in Deep Roads. If you bring Anders with you she could become a Grey Warden.

I really disagree with putting anything in Dexterity. There are so many other ways to boost your crit chance that I don't really see a need.

I mean with Control, Sunder, and Heroic Aura that is +30% crit chance without putting a single point in dexterity. Add to the fact that Whirlwind has a 100% crit rate with upgrade and there are mage and rogue spells that can increase the crit chance on a target. Hex of Torment alone gives you 100% critical strike chance.

If that's not enough there are item modifiers that can increase the chance of a critical hit including the Rune of Striking.

I would reccomend pumping strength and Constitution only. I never had stamina problems with my 2-handed warrior except on boss fights where I couldn't replenish easily.

Wow. I didn't even notice that he put point into Dex. You don't need any points in Dex. Built a warrior with none and I kept getting crits even before using Whirlwind. The real meat to your damage dealing should come form your strength. Sure a Rogue will be able to crit one target in the ten's of thousands, but you can deal out normal damage in the thousands over several targets if you do it right.

Templar is more of a tank build. Sure, if you're making a tanking 2h warrior that should be fine, but Beserker is better for DPS warriors. Get yourself in a low health situation, you can either run around killing minions to fill up your stamina or pop a stamina drought and you'll just destroy anything that stands in your way, and that's before using any specials (I've hit 4k with a whirlwind).

I got templar as my second spec but only for the +10% damage bonus.

in my experience two handers STR > WILL > CON nothing else
warriors are not dex, or crit based characters, they get much better dps with heavy str investment and getting crit and crit related bonuses from talents and gear alone.

full 2 hand talents (every single point is great), 1-3 points in vanguard to get might (and its upgrade if you want the extra dmg on your crits), and at least 2 talents for bolster and second wind (upgrading those is not bad either but gear and high enough willpower + pots is more than enough even in nightmare mode)
zerker specialization. I take all but the top and bottom talents upgrades, cuz I dont use them much (too risky on high dificulties)
everything else is flavour.
