Could Bioware Be So Ambitious?

I think the idea of playing a "Seeker" of some kind does sound pretty cool though, keeping with the whole title thing of Warden, Champion, and Seeker. But you never know. Still, it would be cool if one of the plot lines of DA3 was finding both the Warden and the Champion, with the option of meeting them both near the end of the game and having all three team up. But again, that would be unlikely I think.

The Warden simply vanished or made the ultimate sacrifice to slay the archdemon. Or went through a portal into another dimension with Morrigan.
Also I'd like to point out that Cassandra said the warden was "gone" not disappeared.

the problem with the warden is its simply too vague and varied to ever be used again. my warden while being the "psudeo-canon" human noble warrior who did most of the good stuff and had the ritual might be vastly different from the dwarf noble who did all the jerky stuff and let himself die. so its damn near impossible to write a story that heavily involves a character that can be anything into a story. i mean they tip-toed around it enough in DA2 and he never showed up, so i cant imagine a game where he's actually playable again.
either we'll get a new character, the seeker, or we'll be hawke again. the warden is spent.

Or for all we know the Warden could make a comback along with Hawke and a new protagonist, we get to pick who we want to start off with, and play up to a part where all three become allies and kick serious arse.

Leaves plenty of plot room, fulfills epicness quota, allows for cameos.

Sorry to say this, but the last time that happened (the "I cannot belive videogames could get to this") happened to me with Planescape Torment.otis0310 wrote...
Dragon Age 2 has good graphics and good story. But you are right, is not by any stretch of the imagination ambitous, They do not try to do things no one else did and they take few chances. Very straightforward, but no real "I didn't think games could do what you did" reaction. On the point of pushing what games and programs can do, Sims 3 is ambitious. However, only on the surface, there are numerous short cuts they made do laziness or a general belief it wasn't worth the effort. The great epic things they pulled off with Sims 3 is mostly smoke and mirrors, and DA2 can't even rival that.
That said, I will not deny that I enjoyed Origins a lot and Dragon Age 2 too to a far lesser extent but groundbreaking, nothing like Torment.

Or what about if Hawke is forced in Anderfel blight scenario to be a grey warden or to be a leader of a band of merry people who does things in Anderfel in relation to the blight.

- we play as Hawke with Cassandra (and maybe Leliana) in the party
- we do not directly encounter the Warden but cooperate with him
- if Leliana is not in our party she is working with the Warden and communicates us his/her progress through the storyline
- we may get a vague cameo of the Warden at the end of the game, yet so vague it'll be impossible to tell his/her gender etc. Probably some kind of a cutscene.

While I would love the next game to take place in the Anderfels, I wonder if it's more likely to take place in Orlais, the seat of Chantry power/rule.
Gods help me, is it horrible that I'm already waiting expectantly for the next batch of DLC/expansion/game? I've been arguing with myself for days now about what it would be about, and where/when it would take place.
But back to what the OP was saying, I really don't think any game could contain such awesome. Getting to choose which of past characters to resume, or even better, switching between the two of them, might honestly cause my premature death from fangirl squeeing.
Still, something to dream about, I 'spose.

However, I´d gladly give my main character a propper end, a complete end and let him/her go. The taint does not forgive and unless Morrigan can find a cure for that too... In fact and talking of her, it would be so, so cool to have her crying over the corpse of the warden (both as friend or romance) that I´d rather see a nice end for my main character than a forced reuse.

The hero of Ferelden/warden might very well be dead for many people.
He/she won't return.
I'm getting a sneaking suspicion that Morrigan's god-child will have a role in DA3 (either hero or villain).
I know they said it's not canon but BioWare has made bigger leaps in logic/canon lore.
If they do make the OGB canon, then there's no problem in allowing the warden to return.. Well less.
But my bet would be on playing Hawke again.

If the next PC turns out to be a Seeker, I'm legally obligated to name mine Richard.
You must play as a battlemage (Warrior Wizard) and you need to have a LI with long brown hair and green eyes.

Remember Dragon Age 2? The game that just came out? Remember the near criminal lack of ambition there? I don't think one can reasonably expect better out of DA3.
LOL It's funny cause it's true. This was the worst RPG I've ever played. I wish it had just been a third-person shooter, at least it would have not been hypocritical.
