I played through it completely fives times.  Now that I beat DA2 I went back and I just can't do it anymore, I've done it too often, not to mention I find the combat sequences weak compared to DA2.

Time to take a break, anytime you play a game that many times you can easily grow tired of it. Leave it for a year or two and then come back to it. It will be fun again.

I haven't played it for just over a year, so it has been a while.  It's just all too familiar (for obvious reasons).

Playing (mostly) spoiler-free, RP'ing, and coming up with absurd challenges (hey, let's try killing everyone with Greasebombs!) has kept the game fresh, though I admit there are some areas that feel rather stale once you get rid of the new smell, such as, oh, Deep Roads.

Then again, it's just me.

By no means.  Since DA2 is such a steaming pile of excrement, DA:O has a whole new life to it.  Once I get my new video card, I'll be looking into player made mods and campaigns.

I feel the opposite. I played roughly 20 hours into Dragon Age 2, found it repetitive and shallow plot wise. I had never played DA:O and decided to give it a try, as I had heard the complaints from many people about the original being superior in many ways. I am now 7 hours into origins and the gameplay and plot has surpassed that of what I'd done in DA2 already. The individual class stories are an excellent immersive quality that DA2 lacks, so I think it gains that much in re-playability.

Where can I find these?

Not a bit. I finished DA2 and went back to DA:O with a sigh of relief. I find it more fun and involving in every way than DA2. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like some kind of decent ending for Hawke from DLC, though. But at this point I care more about DA3 and that it's a sequel to Origins in spirit and not to DA2.

Here.

I have only tried Tombs of the Undead (in the dungeon section) so far and I found it enjoyable with a fair bit of dungeon romping and boss fighting with quite a lot of nice new gear. It can be very hard in some places though, but going back at a higher level or changing team members/tactics does the job.

I went over to my brothers house this past weekend, and discovered him playing Dragon Age 2. IT LOOKED AWESOME! So I decided to buy Dragon Age Origins first to start off, and well.. Lets just say that I came home on Sunday night almost, and I have already over 24 hours played on it. I FREAKING LOVE IT! kinda sad actually, but the quests and storylines are just so gripping! It's like reading a really interesting and thrilling book, where you just gotta read one more page, and then one more, and then more.. This translates in the gaming world into that jo gotta do just one more part of a quest, then one more, then one more.. Loving it (:

Yeah, I just can't do it. I tried to go back after playing DA2, and it's just so boring. I find DA2 superior in a lot of ways.

Its hard to play a warrior in DA:O with a two hander swinging once every 3 seconds or so, and missing half the time after playing DA2 warriors. That being said I enjoy how DA2 has slightly faster and more responsive combat, but really prefer everything else about DA:O.

I really enjoyed DA2 while playing it, but now im on my second play through and Im making opposite decisions, with the same result, and I am really starting to notice how flat the story it.

DA:O was a masterpiece of tactical RPG combat and engaging storytelling. It was beautiful yet gruesome at the same time. I realized the reason I was liking DA2 so much was because it was bringing back memories of DA:O, and once I beat DA2 it made me sad to see how bad it was in comparison.

Tried DA 2...ugh...and have come back to DA:O with some newly downloaded mods. DA:O is a very hard game to get tired of.

Wow. That's dedication.

I had over 90 hours of playtime when I finished Origins and soon after I started Awakenings I decided I needed a DA break.

Every single bit of hype and accolade people heaped on Origins was well deserved.

I have replayed games that I've really liked multiple times but I usually go a year or two in between plays. Origins has been out for around 17 months now right?

Compared to you I only -thought- I loved the game. :P You are one serious fan sir.

Well there are still a lot of possibilities: 6 origins, 3 classes, 2-3 combat style / classes, 2 sexes
There are small differences in each of these variants. I have played it 8 times and havent played an archer yet(not interested) however I will try it on my next playthrough just to see.

Im sure you can find another way of playing it that you havent tried.

Yes,I hope DA3 will be more of a sequel to DAO also. As I mentioned in my DA2 thread, I havent bought it yet and am more interested in seeing the DAO cameos then playing it.

You can never get tired of playing a classic. DAO is a classic. DA2 is not.

^^^ I second that.

While DA2 had some qualaties I did like (battle system for a brief while and I do stress the brief) I just was not satisfied with it and went back to origins after a long hiatus. Now I admit I have not beaten the game as much as you have but in my opinion return to it when the feeling is right. You don't want to return to a game you feel will be a chore or it will not be enjoyable. LOL for me just listening to the DAO soundtrack makes me want to return to it usually.

I hated Dragon Age 2 which is why I'm back to Origins. I only beat the game once, and made it half-way through another save before my computer died. Took a break for about 7 months and now I'm back to start another playthrough.

I have all the DLC too that I haven't beaten so I have a lot of things that will be new to me.

I'm sooo excited to return to DA:O after I have finally managed to get through my first DA2 playthrough. It already feels like a chore and I only play on to see story etc once. I know I could game DA:O every time, but I'm holding off the squee until I'm done with Hawke and her/his dull story of rising to power. -_-

DA:O will be a blast to play after that, I'm sure <3

I just bought it yesterday and I'm installing it today. (Ultimate Edition). Looks like I'm in for a good time if it's good enough to play through 5 times.

It's good enough to play 10+ times, what with different decisions and characters.

I meant LITERALLY 10+ times.
