Not really, I beat DA:2 with an import and then looked up the pre-made imports and didn't like the choices and decisions so I'm running a new game so I can see the difference in DA:2 with this import.

It's like Oblivion. I can play through it a few times to see the different paths. Then I need a break unless I'm going for say a trophy or something. Give me a few months and I can run through it all again and love every second.

Plus it's fun to try out each origin story.

I waited for the UE of DAO. Doing the same for DA2. Figure having the complete chapter is best.

Yep, on my 11th run through now. I have played DA2, and am almost finished my third run through but that will be all I do - I don't have the same empathy with the characters, and there is really only two endings for the girl chars, and 2 for the guys (romance wise) if you prefer to play them straight and that's only if you like all the available chars on offer. I did 2 females (mage and rogue) and 1 male (warrior) just to check out each class, and two of them good (rogue and warrior) and 1 mean and nasty (mage), just to check out the differences. I only imported 1 of my finished games, since that had my fave ending - the preset endings were pretty much like my other DAO run throughs, so no need to import them.

I prefer DAO over DA2 and will continue to play it often. (yes, I play other games too, but always come back to DAO).

My only complaints about Dragon Age II are the environments, and lack of customization. Even with those two flaws, it is a worthy successor to Origins.

basically, from what I'm reading here. If you love DA:O then II will disappoint you. If you love DA2 then Origins will disappoint you. I adore Origins and for that reason I'm terrified to buy II in case I hate it. But yeah, any game can get tiring when you've played it enough. Have a rest for a few months then come back to it. I played and replayed Final Fantasy VII probably 20 times in a row, give or take, after that I couldn't play it for about a year and a half even though it's one of my fave games of all time.

How much do you really love one version or the other? Do you love it enough to sit through every single cut scene during conversations or do you just blow through everything? That's what I want to know. I have a hard time just letting the scenes play because I know how it goes.

I did play DA2 to the end, then unistalled it and made it go into the fade.

Then I returned to DA:O and started a new character, and it's more epic than ever. This is my calling and I will pretend that DA2 never was released.

I sat down to play some more and realized how long it takes to get any action with the mage origin. The whole phylactery quest happens fast enough and you even have the spiders to deal with. Afterwards, if you're thorough, the game drags a bit through conversations that award nothing other than codex entries. Dullsville.

I play them all. I still enjoy them and I still find new dialogue with different characters and choices. Amazing game. And I love the voice acting in Origins. It was good in DA2, as well, but the third person protagonist and forced cinematic cutscene conversations really undermined relationships for me.

Not me, I'm back and playing it again for a fourth time (been a year though).

While I respect that many people liked DA2 (or at least parts of it), other then the voice acting I am disgusted with the game. To me everything feels worse, half way between arcade and rpg, and not the right half either, they should have just given me Golden Axe and it would have been better. I'm just bitter again, as I keep thinking, oh its not so bad, and going back to try and play DA2 again, within minutes I remember why I hate it and move on. I wish we could still get refunds.

Dragon Age is one of those games which you have to be "in the mood" for. I cannot play this game for 4 hours straight....the story is heavy (not that this isn't a good thing =P), and the gameplay is kinda slow. So I have be in my role-playing mode in order to play it haha. Likewise for Mass Effect.

Others have suggested taking a break from it and going back to play it again. I've done it twice, and it's a game I don't think I'll ever be tired of.

Ok, but I still want to know. Those of you who enjoy playing -- do you skip cut scenes? Do you blaze a trail of glory through your conversation choices because you already know what you're going to select?

I played through it completely fives times.  Now that I beat DA2 I went back and I just can't do it anymore, I've done it too often, not to mention I find the combat sequences weak compared to DA2.

No.  I keep coming back for more.
When I feel that I have played it to death, I find a month later I am playing it yet again.:D

I'm on my 3rd playthrough and now I skip through some of the text but not most of it. For example, when I'm going through Leliana's stories at the camp, I will skip through that because I've heard it before and am only doing it to get the approval points... I watch all the cutscenes/do all the side quests though.

It's natural to be bored of a game after 5 playthroughs though. Beats me getting bored of DA2 after about half an hour.

Never finished Origins. After playing DA2 quite a lot since I got it, I decided I would take a break, go back and finsh DA:O, hoping to get the Ultimate Editon and finish it with all the add-ons before I go back to DA2 to give BW a chance to release some patches and DLC.

Just finished DA2. 3 times the same maps and then an ugly monster right before the end. 3x (some companion quest + escalating(in the movies) situation that ends abruptly + stupid "fetch my stained pants" quests).

All the chapter bosses except the arishok were poorly depicted (took me a minute to remember the first chapter boss - that interesting) .
And like Orsino some of the personages seem idiotic.
###SPOILER###

Orsino: Meredith wantd blood magic? i'll give her blood magic.
<Turns into a hugely gross pile of crap and attacks the champion - AWESOME>

Yes storyline and feeling DA:O is way better than this game. Archer is way overpowered in this game (max base damage bow = 2x max base damage 2hander) so the 2h experience is a sad one although maybe somewhat more thrilling than DA:O - because of the speed.

It isn't all bad. First chapter was quite interesting - until i discovered all the maps and almost all the monsters.

I was happily waiting for a new and interesting way of playing the game. i played DA:O as a solo Arcane Warrior - nightmare.

This game you can't play solo the freaking weapons are bound to class but the armor is not.
No novel style for you to choose + there is that horrible pre-set if you don't load your DA:O save at the beginning.

I have done origins 6 times, awakening 3 and each DLC at least 2.

I took a break by playing league of legends and now crysis 2 and i found myself wanting to do another playthrough of origins... You should too, this game doesn't get boring for me to the point i uninstall and ditch the disc somewhere i will never find.

Now if only these memory leaks that make me crash every 2-3 hours didn't exist....

i haven't played Origins since November, but up to that time i played through fifteen times. The DA2 demo turned me off, so I decided to wait until the Gold edition with all the dlc and patches. But from what I've been reading it's a game that needs more than just patching to make it enjoyable. I'm still on the fence.

I agree, I've played DA:O through with all the classes, and all possible ways.

The only thing I've really not done in Origins is play as a dwarf. It's something I can't just do. For some reason I just can't take dwarfs seriously. Elves are my favorite race, for that matter.

The dwarf origin stories were the most hilairious of the bunch.  The writers must have had a lot of fun writing those.

I've played through DA Origins a total of 11 times. This game is amazing, compelling story, stunning music that sets the mood, and strategic battles. Each of the six Origins story lines remains memorable as they added depth and most importantly re-playability. Also enjoy the various different kinds of weapons, equipment and armor mixing and matching for characters.

It is very hard to "get tired" of DA Origins.

I purchased DA 2 today and installed it. After about 2 hours of play as a rogue, I can safely say that DA 2 is a much diluted and dumb-downed version of DA Origins. In every major department, DA 2 fails. There is no story, not as compelling as Origins. There is no sense of "grandness" or "mission" in DA 2. No depth of character. No depth of customization. Combat is basically pushing the "X" button constantly. DA 2 so far does not attract me and seems to fail as a worthy successor of DA Origins.

I keep trying to start Origins again, then I remember the Deep roads and The Fade parts then I feel like I can't be bothered.
