Plus it's fun to try out each origin story.
I waited for the UE of DAO. Doing the same for DA2. Figure having the complete chapter is best.

I prefer DAO over DA2 and will continue to play it often. (yes, I play other games too, but always come back to DAO).

Then I returned to DA:O and started a new character, and it's more epic than ever. This is my calling and I will pretend that DA2 never was released.

I play them all. I still enjoy them and I still find new dialogue with different characters and choices. Amazing game. And I love the voice acting in Origins. It was good in DA2, as well, but the third person protagonist and forced cinematic cutscene conversations really undermined relationships for me.DA_Joran wrote...
How much do you really love one version or the other? Do you love it enough to sit through every single cut scene during conversations or do you just blow through everything? That's what I want to know. I have a hard time just letting the scenes play because I know how it goes.

While I respect that many people liked DA2 (or at least parts of it), other then the voice acting I am disgusted with the game. To me everything feels worse, half way between arcade and rpg, and not the right half either, they should have just given me Golden Axe and it would have been better. I'm just bitter again, as I keep thinking, oh its not so bad, and going back to try and play DA2 again, within minutes I remember why I hate it and move on. I wish we could still get refunds.

I played through it completely fives times. Now that I beat DA2 I went back and I just can't do it anymore, I've done it too often, not to mention I find the combat sequences weak compared to DA2.
No. I keep coming back for more.
When I feel that I have played it to death, I find a month later I am playing it yet again.

Ok, but I still want to know. Those of you who enjoy playing -- do you skip cut scenes? Do you blaze a trail of glory through your conversation choices because you already know what you're going to select?
I'm on my 3rd playthrough and now I skip through some of the text but not most of it. For example, when I'm going through Leliana's stories at the camp, I will skip through that because I've heard it before and am only doing it to get the approval points... I watch all the cutscenes/do all the side quests though.
It's natural to be bored of a game after 5 playthroughs though. Beats me getting bored of DA2 after about half an hour.

All the chapter bosses except the arishok were poorly depicted (took me a minute to remember the first chapter boss - that interesting) .
And like Orsino some of the personages seem idiotic.
###SPOILER###
Orsino: Meredith wantd blood magic? i'll give her blood magic.
<Turns into a hugely gross pile of crap and attacks the champion - AWESOME>
Yes storyline and feeling DA:O is way better than this game. Archer is way overpowered in this game (max base damage bow = 2x max base damage 2hander) so the 2h experience is a sad one although maybe somewhat more thrilling than DA:O - because of the speed.
It isn't all bad. First chapter was quite interesting - until i discovered all the maps and almost all the monsters.
I was happily waiting for a new and interesting way of playing the game. i played DA:O as a solo Arcane Warrior - nightmare.
This game you can't play solo the freaking weapons are bound to class but the armor is not.
No novel style for you to choose + there is that horrible pre-set if you don't load your DA:O save at the beginning.

I took a break by playing league of legends and now crysis 2 and i found myself wanting to do another playthrough of origins... You should too, this game doesn't get boring for me to the point i uninstall and ditch the disc somewhere i will never find.
Now if only these memory leaks that make me crash every 2-3 hours didn't exist....

The only thing I've really not done in Origins is play as a dwarf. It's something I can't just do. For some reason I just can't take dwarfs seriously. Elves are my favorite race, for that matter.

The dwarf origin stories were the most hilairious of the bunch. The writers must have had a lot of fun writing those.

It is very hard to "get tired" of DA Origins.
I purchased DA 2 today and installed it. After about 2 hours of play as a rogue, I can safely say that DA 2 is a much diluted and dumb-downed version of DA Origins. In every major department, DA 2 fails. There is no story, not as compelling as Origins. There is no sense of "grandness" or "mission" in DA 2. No depth of character. No depth of customization. Combat is basically pushing the "X" button constantly. DA 2 so far does not attract me and seems to fail as a worthy successor of DA Origins.
