I keep trying to start Origins again, then I remember the Deep roads and The Fade parts then I feel like I can't be bothered.

Just played through the tower using the 'skip the fade' mod last night. The fade section is reduced to about 15 min.

I highly recommend it if your playing on pc. Previously, the fade alone was enough to keep me from replaying the game. I'd start a new character, get to the fade section, and just say screw it. It was so dreadfully boring.

I find "The Fade" phase of the Mage's Tower goes by pretty fast if you handle things in a specific order. Right now, I don't remember the order. You have to learn certain shape-shifting talents before you can progress in certain areas. As a result, there is an order of activity that makes sense.

I love the fade. Some of it is quite funny, and I enjoy using the shapeshifting abilities. It has the added bonus of making the companions all that much more fun to be with by giving you a chance to miss them, as well.

Ok, but I still want to know. Those of you who enjoy playing -- do you skip cut scenes? Do you blaze a trail of glory through your conversation choices because you already know what you're going to select?

No, not for the most part, and the bits I occasionally skip aren't conversations. I still enjoy those immensely. And while one PC has had the conversation before, a new character hasn't, and with roleplaying, it's a new conversation.

I played through it completely fives times.

I played through Dragon Age completely once and every character after that I never got to Lothering. I never finished Awakening once. Thank goodness for the save game editor.

For DA 2, my second character is now in Act 3. I'm not sure if I'll finish. Maybe after they get patch 1.02 out I'll play one last game and then uninstall it until the XP or DLC comes out.

I also came back to DAO after finishing DA2 and am falling in love with DAO all over again, right down to the UI and inventory item icons and lack of flashy ninja rogues and stopping to kiss Alistair in the middle of a Deep Roads romp.

I played Origins six times over the last year... I think that's more than enough for now. My last run was the "perfect run" for my canon warden and I kind of like saying goodbye to the game with that beautiful memory. Besides, I'm loving DA2 and I'm only on my second run and I plan to do at least two more after that. Should a toolset be released, the mods might entice me to do additional runs (just like with Origins).

I will take a small break in between this run and the next two though. Gotta replay both ME games in the meantime.

As for Origins, I'll play it again someday for sure, but not in the near future. I've already seen everything I wanted to see. The game will benefit from some time on the shelf (digital shelf... :P).

...not to mention I find the combat sequences weak compared to DA2.

This is another reason why giving the game some time on the shelf will be a good thing for me (so as to forget what it's like). After falling in love with the DA2 combat, I'd have a hard time going back the Origins combat...

Time to take a break, anytime you play a game that many times you can easily grow tired of it. Leave it for a year or two and then come back to it. It will be fun again.

Very true. Even the greatest games will get old if you play them over and over again. Normally I only play games once and then leave them on the shelf for a year or two. Origins, ME 1 and 2, and DA2 are the only games that I've felt compelled to replay right away. But even games of this quality will get old eventually if you keep playing them constantly.

Nothing like letting a favorite thing gather some dust and then fall in love with it again in the future.

I finished Origins, Awakening and their respective DLC's with over 20 characters. While I still love the game to bits, I'm finding it harder and harder to replay it completely. At best I'll finish Origins and ignore Awakening.

Still, going to try and force myself to play through once more as a female Amell mage, so I can do somethings I normally don't and import the save into DA2.

20 times? I'd say you got your money's worth. B)

I can respect that.  However, there are certain conversations that will never ever change.  For example,  the joining ritual will always play out the same.  There are only so many dialouge choices.

Doesn't matter. I still enjoy them for the acting and the roleplay. I wouldn't still be playing the game after a year if I didn't.
