Surely, there are a million better responses or ways of responding that could take into account possible feelings of being cheated or undermined.

I mean, many of these complaints are coming from fans who are genuinely upset because BioWare creates games that they love. Surely, that concern shouldn't just be dismissed in such a...less than sincere fashion.

Quoted for truth.

I'm guessing there is going to be a canon explanation for this nonsense like Leliana chosen by the maker or reincarnation of Andraste or some other reason.

Meh its bio's game they can do what they want, its like the ME:2 kill as many of the team as I can players, I bet they'll be dissapointed too. And Bio is hardly the first company to do this.

I hope not. I suspect my playful sarcasm would be construed as a 'personal attack' and earn me a ban from Darth Gaider. :?

People care too much about leliannas death I can think of at least e ways she could have survived that death give bioware a chance to explain things before you go making assumptions about them going f-you paying customer

You obviously haven't actually read much of the thread if you're saying that.

He could have explained how easily she could survive, being in close proximity to the miracle McGuffin at the time of her death.

And, if we do offer an explanation, it's not going to be here on these forums just because someone demands to know RIGHT NOW. When we do, I assume you will feel free to fall on your "injured customer" cross, then. Image IPB

I can't for the life of me imagine why anyone would think you as rude and abrasive.

Lol, the things you've done aren't really Ban worthy. Ive been banned for making a fake Priestly thread on how Kasumi was going to be delayed a couple of months.

You're just telling the truth.

Anywho, ignoring the lead writers bad attitude, its pretty obvious it was the ashes that bought Leliana back if you killed her. There are still some holes to her personality and such, but still.

It doesn't bother me at all that Leliana survived (none of the saves I use even have her dying), it bothers me that your attitude is reminiscent of Darth Vader in Empire Strikes Back. "I am altering the deal, customer. Pray I do not alter it any further." If there is (or even if there isn't) going to be a perfectly reasonable explanation for Leliana's return, the fact that you belittle customers wanting their choices (choices you gave them in the first place) to matter is what I take issue with, not the actual retcon.

It will, in fact, pretty much always work out the waywe think it should-- and that includes bringing characters we like back. For those people who are just going to stamp their feet and insist that it should be what they want instead,

That is the entire problem in a nutshell. And not that the writers can change what they want (which is so obvious it doesn't even need to be said), but that if people want their choices (you know, the ones you gave them?) to stick and are disappointed when they don't they're just being whiny whiners stamping their feet like children.

Wanting a story to stick isn't whining, and yes it may be a disappointment to some people. But they can be made to understand, but telling people to shut up and wait and then tell then using Ad Hominem and telling them that they're crybabies IS NOT the way to go at this.

I killed Alistair and made Anora the Queen in my imported playthrough, but Aveline mentions a king of Ferelden, not a queen. I guess Anora could have died by then, but I always figured she would be queen longer than that.

Also what is the point of all of these choices if you are just going to force one choice on us? Justice "died" at the end of my awakening playthrough, there was no mention of him merging with Anders. This is definitely retconning.

Not all choices are going to have the same effect, and just because some don't carry forward the way you think they should doesn't mean that none of them do. You're free to exaggerate to make your point, that's up to you-- I completely get that you're unhappy (in general), but playing the injured party and claiming my attitude is bad like I'm some clerk at a retail counter there to take your personal order is hardly convincing anyone. Sorry.

Am I the only one that imagined that in the Darth Vader voice?

I am?

Actually, he doesn't really care about the Leliana import, since he himself didnt kill her. If even said he might accept any wild plot points that you might pull out of your dark place in order to explain, its the hostile attitude that you've had in this thred, against your own customers and fan base i might add, that he's complaining about.

And its a very justified complaint as well.

My "attitude" which is evidently not agreeing with everyone who has a chip on their shoulder?

Time for me to go back to work and not get drawn into these arguments, I think. Sorry to cause such a stir.

I can imagine that you hear certain voices. Is there any reason to antagonize a dev beyond your hurt ego?

@topic: A small permutation at the end would have helped against the confusion. A small statement like "he/she left me there for dead, but did not a convincing job at that" if you killed certain person.

IMO....writers want to tell a story, you choose the outcome, but doesn't mean they will always follow up all of your choices, is their story...Just be happy that you can choose different choices...not all the games have that....c'mon, aren't you curious? Why would you kill such amazing characters

To be fair, at this point I've been hostile (or it could be read that way, I'm aiming for a sarcastic tone), so him reacting in kind is fine.

Though it's nice to know that Darth Gaider doesn't think that attitude is relevant if you don't work for customer service.
