When we do, I assume you will feel free to fall on your "injured customer" cross, then.
It doesn't bother me at all that Leliana survived (none of the saves I use even have her dying), it bothers me that your attitude is reminiscent of Darth Vader in Empire Strikes Back. "I am altering the deal, customer. Pray I do not alter it any further." If there is (or even if there isn't) going to be a perfectly reasonable explanation for Leliana's return, the fact that you belittle customers wanting their choices (choices you gave them in the first place) to matter is what I take issue with, not the actual retcon.
It will, in fact, pretty much always work out the waywe think it should-- and that includes bringing characters we like back. For those people who are just going to stamp their feet and insist that it should be what they want instead,
That is the entire problem in a nutshell. And not that the writers can change what they want (which is so obvious it doesn't even need to be said), but that if people want their choices (you know, the ones you gave them?) to stick and are disappointed when they don't they're just being whiny whiners stamping their feet like children.
