Hi all new PC DA gamer here, I wanted to try some mods but how do you get the console prompt? I tried ~ (tilda) but that does not work. Thanks for your help and sorry if this has been asked before.

Make sure you have the console enabled from a shortcut that runs the game. When you hit the tilde key, just type in the command string and hope you didn't make a typo.

Eh, you need to go to your documents > bioware > Dragon age 2 > settings and open up KeyBindings.ini. Then look for "OpenConsole=0". Replace zero with some key.
For example, to make the console be opened by the letter X, replace it with this:
OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_X

Try with F6. It worked for me when tilde and backtick didn't. And no you don't have to add anything to the second line.
