However one feels about the Qun, it is difficult to argue that the Arishok is anything but an intriguing character with excellent acting.

He's an excellent adversary, being that he is no Blight type blind evil and seems to have legitimate reasons, by his standards at least, for what he does.

Ok so I wasn't the only thinking he was such a badass! I really like the Qunari.....I didn't appreciate Sten the first time I played Origins but the second time, I was like "Hell yeah Qunaris"....

I can't say I understand their culture entirely but I do respect it and most of all the Arishok. He was a very very interesting adversary.

I want a Qunari DLC please! I'd like to visit their cities or something.....

I love the Arishok. Excellent voice acting and fascinating character. I loved Sten in Origins, and it was nice to see some more insight in qunari culture in DA2.

I agree. I would love to see a Qunari DLC and learn more about them.

The Arishok had to be one of the best characters in the whole game. Pretty great bad guy.

Too bad he never gets to hear the answer to his question. I don't think Sten would have made it back to Par Vollen in the short time before the Arishok arrived in Kirkwall. He never makes mention of his curiosity about the Blight, sadly.

I always thought, given what Sten said, that the Arishok was the Qunari leader but its more like he's the head general, so yikes at ever meeting the head Qunari.

The VA did a great job, there were scenes where he scared the hell out of me. I was watching him get up and yell at Hawke and was thinking the whole time "Please don't come down those stairs, please don't come down those stairs..."

There is no head Qunari though. The Arishok leads the body or something like that, which is the military, then there's another who leads the mind, which is the craftsmen, and then the last leads the priesthood or something (too lazy to check codex)

But essentially no one person holds power, rather it's shared between the three highest.

The Arishok was awesome. From his first appearance to the final battle, he was nothing but 8 feet for 400 pounds of awesome. Awesome writing, awesome voice acting, awesome everything. Dueling him was amazing (I totally said "Have at thee, you son of a b*tch.")

Though I did chuckle when the first word that left his lips was "No."

The Arishok was the best antagonist of the game by far. Much better than the crazy lady in the templar armor.

Much of the philosopy of the Qun is very well thought out, I think. Execution, I think, and the presensece of mages of course, are where the problems lie. Perhaps the Qunari should adopt the Amish tradition of allowing their young a summer of absolute freedom from their beliefs and traditions to decide whether the Qun is really right for them. If they find the world outside of the Qun more comfortable and satisfying, then they stay away and form a seperate peace with their bretheren instead of becoming Tal' Vasoth.

There is really no simple answer to mages though. Binding them or imprisoning them does not work. They are reduced to animals or slaves, and left in an even weaker state to fight off the very threat these measures are meant to 'protect' them and everyone else from. The closest I have come to a solution is establishing a massive and permanent pressence in the Fade itself to monitor the spirits rather then the mages they often inhabit. An order of Templar Mages that live their entire adult lives within the Fade. The lyrium necessary, not to mention the personal sacrifice these mages would have to make, would likely be prohibitavley substantial, though.

From the time I saw him in the Destiny trailer, I knew he would be my favorite character in the series.

I respected him, and am depressed at the loss of him and It's amazing how well written he was along with the rest of the Qunari.

The Qunari are badass, I really wanted the option to side with them. I was on their side for pretty much everything. Yea they controlling and kind of scary, but I didn't care for any of the government or other institutional powers in Kirkwall. I wanted to help the Qunari burn it all to the ground :)

He is, perhaps, my favorite character in the game. Truly epic. It took a lot of conversations with Sten to wrap my mind around the Qunari. The respect that the Arishok gives you in this game is amazing. He is pushed to his absolute limits and holds back just a while longer until one of your companions betrays you. The look that you share with him on your way out of their compound is one of my favorite scenes in the entire game.

Ugh....this so much. The Arishok was so much more interesting than Meredith. Maybe because by that time I was just tired of the whole templar vs mage thing. I found the Qunari much more interesting.

The Arishok is awesome, but part of me wonders if he only got that job by having the hugest horns.

The Arishok was sexy. Why couldn't he have been an LI? I would have 'manced him in a second.

Oh... and all that stuff about him being a good adversary too.... :D

Does anyone else think the Arishok was kinda right about Kirkwall? In the end just about everyone who lived there turned out to be a dirtbag.

I thought he was a very well done character. Always had me interested and question what I was doing. A very good enemy if he would even be called that.

Seconded. He was an opponent worthy of respect whereas Meredith wasn't.

I absolutely loved him!!
It would have been cool if there had been a flirt option, I bet his reaction would have been hilarious. A horn-related joke would have been ideal..and I think you know what I mean :D

YES!

I was waiting for someone to start this thread. The Arishok owns! Wonderful adversary and an interesting philosophy! The Second Act had my heart racing from start to finish! ^_^
