Which makes me wonder, why do leaders like the Arishok have large horns? Wouldn't smaller / no horns be preferable among the Qunari? Perhaps the Arishok's large horns were strictly symbolic (power. large horns. etc).

Thoughts?

... A symbol of an Alpha, perhaps? Image IPB . Or maybe the size of the horns indicate the age of the person in question?

Possibly, or a symbol of a good fighter? Their roles are chosen for them once they hit age 12 and they carry that title for the rest of their life. And he obviously had to have the talents to earn that position. O: Maybe big horns = Better at fighting?

AH! I found the article on horns

"Some are born without them, but it is not considered a defect — on the contrary, those born without horns are considered special, as they are meant for a special role in Qunari society such as a Ben-Hassrath or an envoy to the other races. Sten, as a soldier of the Beresaad, falls into this category. It is not uncommon for Qunari who betray their beliefs to remove their own horns (as in the case of Armaas), though the reason for this act is not yet clear."

Definitely my favorite non-party character in the game. I enjoyed the re-imagining of the Qunari in this game anyway, but the Arishok sealed the deal. Gotta say, though, it was a good thing I always carried a small supply of Maker's Sigh potions with me at all times, because there is no way my 2-handed warrior could have beaten him without a respec. I just didn't have Hawk geared properly for a one-on-one duel.

I would really like to see a mod for DA:O to make Sten look like his DA2 kin. Yes, I know that there is a given explanation, but that's really just an in-game excuse for a technical limitation.

Acctually if you look closely, all of the Sten that you talk to or fight in DA2 have no horns and the only reason it looks like thy do is because of the helmets that they are always wearing.

Arishok is one of the most deepest and most logical persons in video game history, only Spock from Star trek is almost at the same level as this guy.

He is a honorable person, who keeps his promises, he seek to conquer the world by logical conversion. however i found the scene when he hurried the Vicounts head down the strais as immunological,

Yes the Arishok is my favorite Adversary / Nemesis.

I prefer him to Meredith. I wish only he was my last act villain. He's so butter to take down as a rogue to.

I am completely in love with the Arishok. *sigh* I hope Bioware sends us to Par Vollen or Seheron.

Me too!! I was hoping that somehow there could be a romance option with him.  His voice, his honor, his size, his power! Yep, I like me some alpha males. It is nice to imagine bridging the cultures and having the Arishok think that you are awesome.  Killing him was hard.
