Where'd The Sense Of Humour Go?

Might not be everyones kind of humor, I guess, but it felt far more natural and genuine in DA2, compared to the somewhat forced DA2 humor. However, since I disliked Oghren, I'm likely biased.

For me, I'd say DA2 was no less humorous - and sometimes more so - than its predecessor.

Lucky for those, they are all youtubed:
The cheating chanter, Sten stealing cookies from a child, the wise highwaymen raider, Morrigan playing nice in the fade and Oghren's 100 killer moments. Also in Awakening, Oghren steals it all either with Anders or with Sigrun. All topped by Leliana's forbidden fruit, of course!

Of course the fun is doubled if you're playing Witty Hawke. Witty Hawke is the 'Alistair/Anders' of the game. Which is odd, since the latter was there.
I think anyone saying they haven't laughed as much as orgins has not explored all the possibilities in this game. Because really, this game is not lacking whatsoever. The only real difference is that the funny is quicker to get rolling in Origins. Mostly due to comedy in the starter sequences and early Alistair aquisition.

Fenris: Dance
Varric: What?!
Fenris: I run from room to room and choreograph routines.

You're kidding, right? Scenes like Hawke rushing into the middle of an argument between Avaline and Isabela asking breathlessly "are there any seats left?" was a comedy gem. The banter was almost always funny; Hawke's one sided pun about the Wounded Coast was adorable.
For me, I'd say DA2 was no less humorous - and sometimes more so - than its predecessor.
I loved that. I also loved funny Hawke during one of Fenris' big rants.
Fenris (screaming loudly): What good has magic EVER brought?
Looks over to Mage Hawke who just stands there looking him with a raised eyebrow.
Fenris (suddenly calm): Oh... I... well...
It was played seriously, but Hawke's expression of "O RLY?" was priceless.

I prefer DA2 "humor". Maybe it's that the companions were doing and saying things my real life friend would do in the same context...

I feel that there is much more humorous banter in DA2. Every combination of character produces banter and it is constant. DA:O would go for whole sequences with nary a quip - but DA2 has it constantly and I'm yet to find a combination of characters that doesn't produce something every time I enter a location.

Here's an example exchange:
- Merrill: How did you learn swording?
- Carver: Swording?
- Merrill: Those things you do with the sword. It looks tricky. Was it hard to learn?
- Carver: Takes a lot of practice.
- Merrill: Well, you seem good at it. I bet one day you'll be best sworder in Kirkwall.
- carver: Merrill...
- Merrill: I said something wrong again didin't I? Maybe I'll just stop talking.

ANYTHING.
Anders: I've always wondered, why is every surface dwarf a merchant or a smith?
Varric: You left out criminals and hired muscle.
Anders: They don't count.
Varric: We dwarves are drawn to shiny objects, sort of like Magpies, but with business sense.
Anders: You're kidding.
Varric: Of course I am. We come to the surface with the skills our ancestors had, Blondie. You think there's a tradition of Dwarf woodcutters in Orzammar? Bee keepers? Sailors?
Anders: Well, there could be mushroom growers and nug wranglers.
Varric: Orzammar will never let those people go topside. Too vital. Also, embarrassing
Varric: So, what do you do, Aveline?
Aveline: You know I'm a guard. Why are you asking?
Varric: I mean in your off-duty hours. You've heard of it, I hope.
Aveline: These are my off-duty hours.
Varric: And the trend of you scaring the ****** out of me continues
Varric: You know, Junior, it's eerie how much of a resemblance there is between you two.
Carver: He/she's my brother/sister, of course there's a resemblance.
Varric: Ooh, you thought I meant Hawke. I was talking about Gamlen.
Carver: Maker, I hate you dwarf.
───────
Varric: You know you still owe me five sovereigns, elf.
Fenris: I'm good for it.
Varric: So, you think you can win the coin from Isabela? Good luck with that./ So you're going to borrow it from Hawke(if romanced)
Varric: Coming to the Hanged Man for Wicked Grace later?
Fenris: Never miss it.
Isabela: Come to me, and I'll take you to places you've never been.
Varric: Isabela...are you talking to Bianca?
Isabela: I think she deserves to feel a woman's touch on her trigger, don't you?
Varric: Bianca responds to my touch. She'd never give it up for you.
Isabela: That's what they always say, and I always prove them wrong.
Varric: Stop it. You're confusing her. And me.
───────
Merrill: Thank you very much for the help earlier Varric.
Varric: You made it back to the Alienage in one piece then?
Merrill: I don't know how I wound up in Darktown. There are just too many corners in Kirkwall.
Varric: Still got that ball of twine?
Merrill: I left it at my house. Don't worry. I won't get lost while we're following Hawke.
Varric: Bring it next time, Daisy. Just in case. (D'awwww)
Sebastian: "I - Hawke! We were just talking about you."
Hawke: "Carry on. I love to eavesdrop."
Varric: "'Hawke said, sarcastically.'"
Hawke: "You know, I hate it when you do that."
Varric: "'Hawke muttered, in an angry aside to the dwarf...'"
As I said. ANYTHING.

Anything with Varric..
Anything with Isabela was equally funny. As was anything with 'Witty' Hawke. Since that was most of my usual team, nearly everything was a great time. Sure we were all rogues. But rogues have more fun.
Except Sebastian. He has vows you know. (But his story leads to one incredibly priceless moment with Isabela)

Something about the humor was different, but this game still had plenty of laughs.
Got to get around to trying witty/sarcastic Hawke though, I bet that'll be great.

If there is anything that Dragon Age 2 does better than Origins it's the humor. Way more comedy in DA2.
You didn't have Oghren in your team at all?
