Hello, I am having problems trying to play dragon age II when ever I put in my email and password to sign on my EA account to activate Dragon age II it keeps saying: Please check your internet connection, If the problem persists, wait and try again later beacuse the servers may be temporarily unavailable.
My internet connection it fine and Ive waited for a day now and it still says the same thing, anyone know what the problem might be?

Firewall rule? DAII not on the list of "approved" programs?

Check your Host file. Some have reported that they have EA Activation Server blocked.

Host Files should be in

C:\\Windows\\System32\\Driver\\Etc

It has no extension and is a text file, you can just open it with Notepad. Though you have to run Notepad as Administrator to actually make changes.

And me - bought DA2 this morning and cannot activate it. No support numbers just a web email form. This isn't customer service.

I'm also having this problem, my copy arrived in the mail today and although it's apparently been activated via this website, the game still won't accept my code. Spent over an hour talking with support, providing scans of documents proving I own a copy of the game, only to be eventually told that this is a problem at EAs end and it will be fixed 'soon'.
So try again tomorrow, I guess?

And me
Registered game on the this site and it validated the registration code fine - i even made a typo initially which it spotted and corrected - so i know its valid.
However when launching game i can neither register via my email/password, or via code.
.
Arrrrgggghh
.
Gonna try EA customer support per the back of the booklet, but i'm realistically resigned to keep trying.

I had the exact same problem. Check this^ thread for more information, and a possible solution. It worked for me. :)

EDIT: Figured I might as well just post the solution here. Heh.
1. Go to EA and register an account if you haven't already.
2. Click on 'Shop at Origin' and download the program. (Origin)
3. Once installed, open it and go to settings.
4. Click on 'validate code' (or something of the like.) and enter your serial number. (The code on the back of the manual.)
5.Once validated, start up DA II from the disk. You should be able to run it.

This solution was originally posted by Gandalfo. So credits go to him.

You don't need to have the downloaded version of the game. I've bought the disc version as well, and it worked. :)

Right, the Origin thing will work. Or at least it did for me. When I was talking with support, eventually they gave me a new product key to use, but it still wouldn't work using the activation tool. I used this new key within Origin however, and now the game works just fine. Thanks xPhealy!

Ok Online chat with EA says intermittent server problem at their end. Will be fixed soon, with no ETA on 'soon'.
He ended with 'It was nice talking to you David, we are proud to have customers like you.' ;-))
.
Will try later and will also try origin for what its worth.
.
Thanks for help.
Will post if i learn anything extra beyond just waiting and trying.

YES!

This worked.

Thanks a lot guys. So much for EA technical support chat service. Can only guess one server isnt talking to another server etc....

Thanks  - credit to gandalfo and xPhealy in particular for saving my sanity.

@Malthazar1234;

You'll have to provide a lot more info than that before anyone here can even attempt to help you. And depending on exactly what's going on, you'll likely end up needing to go to EA Customer Service anyway, so you might as well start there.

Use the "BioWare Game Support" link at the botttom of the page, then choose "Ask a Game Advisor", then look for the "Live Chat" option.

There is no one in here who can do anything for you. You must contact EA Help.
