apart from choseing someone else? i romanced issablla and i dont want to anymore so can i just 'dump' her and hawke be single?

There's a red broken-heart dialogue option to select during some conversations which make it clear Hawke's not interested and the romance will end. Because you can't just talk to your characters at will, you may have to wait a while for that option to come up.
