What are the feeder roles for consideration for Arishok?

Wow, so that was the actual leader of the Qunari? Good thing I didn't kill him... eh... unless I did it wrong and they retcon my game.

Not the leader, just one of them. The Qunari don't have a single ruler like a king or a queen. They have a triumvirate consisting of the Arishok (leader of the military), Arigena (leader of the workers/craftsmen), and the Ariqun (leader of the priesthood).

Yes, but I meant the military leader.  Obviously he could be replaced by whoever was next in line, but I just don't think it would have been a good idea to kill their most important warrior...  I should have beeen more clear with my initial post.

Ah, gotcha. :) I suspect the Qunari wouldn't have been too badly damaged, socially. Whoever was best equipped to take over as Arishok would have been plugged in without much of a fuss.

I think Arishok is both a grade and a term to designate the military part of the Qunari.

It would make no sense to have one Arishok at a time which would go conquer.Par Vollen and Seheron aren't even close to each other, and i expect the Qunari to have military strength to defend their people in both locations.

Why do you think the Arishok's presence is required?  He's basically the military supreme commander.  He's still allowed Generals.

He was in charge of the mission to retrieve the relic. He messed it up, so he alone must recover it. As to why he couldn't assign the mission to someone else? The relic is the Tome of Koslun, written by the founder of their religion. That damn book is probably the single most important piece of literature the Qunari have.

Sten of the Beresad for the next Arishok!

It would be much better to have him as an Ashkaari.

And it's interesting to see that despite the Arishok being the commander in chief of all Qunari armed forces, not only is he not the most powerful figure in the Triumvirate. But the others can also bar him from coming back to Par Vollen unless he finished his duty.

That's pretty impressive. That the Arishok, like all others,is subject to the Law and that it doesn't matter if he had armies under his command. He was still accountable and he still had to correct his mistake. We may take that for granted in the modern era, but it's not easy to establish that and the Qunari did.

I think it is more like -Arishok (leader(S) of the military), Arigena (leader(S) of the workers/craftsmen), and the Ariqun (leader(S) of the priesthood). As in The Sten was Sten's title and he was not the only sten.

So we fought An Arishok but not the only Arishok.

That was a fake Arishok. The real guy carved his way through hundreds and hundreds of the city guard and slaughtered the Viscount himself.

Well, at least in the trailer.

Like I commented on another thread, seems like Plato has a long shadow. ^_^
