I just got Bethany back in Act 3 and she had a whole bunch of points to spend. Does she really have no specialization at all?

In terms of gameplay your siblings are in practicality just temporary companions, pretty much interchangeable with eachother. So yeah, BioWare didn't bother with that.

It's not so bad... Carver is actually pretty powerful because he has no specializations. You are free to focus on making him a pure warrior. At least, I found it useful...

Well, I would have loved to make Bethany a spirit healer or something like that at the end to replace Anders, whom I executed, but I just finished the game and she was pretty powerful as she was.
