I cant do any of the fights on my rogue because Im getting 1 or 2 shotted. On my Resistance Screen I have -50% damage reduction probably from the Sebastian bug.
I also dont think negative debuffs, amongst other status effects, are being removed or restored properly. For example, Anders with Arcane Shield with the Elemental upgrade only has 15% resistances not 20% like he should have.
He also has the Arcane Wall upgrade which should give the whole group +20% resistance to elements. Some people do have the 20% other party members have other, smaller values. My rogue only has 5% elemental resistance.

To sum it up it seems to be to do with certain companions (Isabela for the attack speed bug and Sebastian for the damage resistance bug) friendship bonuses not being applied and deducted properly when they are added and removed from the group (though it happens at other times as well which is why it is proving so hard to narrow down), you can temporarily fix it by editing your savegame but it will happen again and again.

I think the companion generated ones are the most noticeable because people add them in and out of the group so much that eventually the stacking becomes so severe. But other sources of stat modifiers arent being removed or restored as well.
My rogue only has 5% elemental resistances with group Arcane elemental shield. Other party members have different values. No one is wearing any resistance gear. Ive got a 1 fortitude, and some other strange values that arent coming from spells, equipment, or abilities, that I think came from equipment or enemy debuffs that havent been restored properly once the equipment was removed or the debuff wore off.
Its amazing that all these bugs made it past there QA process, but thats a story for another post.

A friend of mine is playing this on the ps3 and he's getting the same slowing and damage resistance bug, many people here seem fine with editing their save games as a temporary fix but that sure isn't a help to the console users!
It's a bit of a relief that it's not just a PC bug, we can eliminate people's individual computer setup having anything to do with it and at least we know it will be fixed if it's affecting all platforms.
In the meantime I've gone back to New Vegas till this is playable, checking and re-editing my save every single time I wack F5 is really getting on my nerves at this point.

Nope, mine is a warrior, my friend is playing as a mage on the PS3 version, it happens across the board no matter what your Hawke's gender or class is.
Some people may have never noticed it if they never had Isabela or Sebastian at full frindship status as that "seems" the most likely culprit.

It happens with all 3 classes, just used the rogue in my example, hes also the one furthest along, so is the most messed up. On smaller fights I dont really notice, but when i started getting one shotted with 200 health I thought to take a look at the Resistance page off the Character screen and saw what a mess it was.
Dagg, i hear you. Based on how bad they were with bugs from Awakenings and how long it took them to fix stuff, I wanted to wait till after the first big patch before buying the game.
For such an amazing development house, their QA department has got to be the worst of the major studios.

I just found a response from a bioware rep on the PS3 tech support forum, they've confirmed it is the Isabela/Sebastian buff doing it on all 3 platforms and are "dealing with it accordingly".
So however long it takes, at least we know they're on it.

What bothered me when this first started happening though, it was like that momentum/haste/beyond the veil issue back in Origins and Awakening, was never really sure if that was a bug or what but it sure wasn't working properly and there was never any kind of official fix. Ended up finding a mod to fix that bugger.

Good to know, on the first playthrough my playstyle tends to max out some of these sliders.
