In DA:O, it seemed like city elves and others who live in cities viewed the Dalish as savages or uncivilized. You would overhear conversations or speak to people and they would seem to be afraid of the Dalish.

But in Kirkwall when Marethari enters the alienage during the quest to go into the fade, the elves there kneel in reverence or at least that's what it looked like to me.

So are the Dalish viewed differently there? Or is it just because the Dalish were so close to the city that the people got used to them?
