I just finished the game, and after the cutscene at the end.. my game crashes, a runtime error

it repeatedly does this if I reload, do the last encounter etc

Anyone else have the same issue?

I don't think I am getting my final 'save' either.. because of this

Final save will say Post-Campaign.

Can you tell me exactly which part it crashes at? I know you said the end but there are several different cutscenes in that section so the 'end' may be different than what I think it is. Also, is this a disc copy or digital download and what OS are you using?

right after the cutscene with Leliana and the book, it crashes there

I'm on windows 7, and it's a digital copy via steam

I also had the same crash at the same moment, right as they zoom from Leliana into the eye of the book she's holding. Win 7, 64-bit, but I have a store-bought copy. Is there any other cut scenes beyond that?

Me too, and there's no post-campaign save which means doing the final battle over. My error message said that the program "tried to close in an unusual way."

*edited to add: it's a store-bought copy, not steam.

UPDATE: Played through a second time with a different character and no crash. The zoom-in towards the Eye on the Book was the end and it went to the credits after that. Glad it did decide to crash there rather than just before, because reloading the save and fighting the battle again it crashed in the same spot.

You got a post-campaign save with that second character, right? Maybe I'll try the final battle with a slightly earlier save. No second character...yet But I'm thinking this will become a problem we want to take the crashed characters into any forthcoming expansions.

I'm having a consistent game crash during the second battle with large demon (I can't remember the archmage's name). I've tried adjusting graphics down. I have a dvd copy on Vista Ultimate. Any ideas? Sounds like a similar problem.

I have a storebought version of the game and get the same exact crash. Finish the last battle, watch the last cutscene and then BOOM runtime error. No final save.

Windows 7 64 Bit Ultimate.

PS - Has anyone gotten around this? I really do not want to have to play through the game from the beginning again and the only thing I have seen so far is that people didn't have problems on a different play through. I would like to be able to finish the game with my _preferred_ play through.

I haven't got any resolution. Played it through to that point with 4 different characters and had the same problem Hope patch comes out soon to stabilize the problem, I'd like to see the end. Learned my lesson about paying full price to get it by release date. Think I'm going to wait on ME3 now, let the first patch come out and the price may drop by then too.
