My thoughts and predictions... some of these may lean more towards my wish list for DAIII, but still. Image IPB

-The Warden returns as the protagonist, and the story takes place in Orlais
Alistair or Anora sends for the Warden to investigate things happening there.  My main reason to bring back the Warden, just imagine the story they could tell sending the Hero of Ferelden, the well-known and admired person who rallied a whole country and races together and stopped the blight in record time, being sent to Orlais, where he/she would be unknown, ignored, and likely hated infiltrating this country now hostile towards Ferelden.

- Morrigan returns with the old god baby.
I'm not sure what part they'll play yet, but given Sandal's prophecy, he says that "He" will rise again.  Isn't Morrigan's child a he?  Anyway, the Warden is the one who helped put this into motion.  I personally wouldn't want some unknown hero dealing with this whole situation but that's just me.  The Dark Ritual will be canon.  If you sacrificed your Warden, you won't be able to import that story.  (Again, just my thoughts.  Sorry if anyone doesn't like this idea.)

-Leliana is back and living in Orlais
I don't think she would be a companion but rather a quest-giver like Liara in ME2.  A post that Gaider wrote recently gave me the feeling that she may play a big part in the future, but I've been wrong before.

-Nathaniel, Zevran, and Merril return as companions
So, this may be more of a wish, since I adore Nathaniel and I always hoped that he would be a love interest for my female Cousland, and since he's apparently still with the Wardens, this gets my hopes up.  Zevran is just a guess, but I kinda got that feeling with him.  And Merril, I'm not sure, but since she has a lot to do with the mirror, it may be possible.

I also think that Sten would return too, but not as a companion.  I'm not sure what they would do with the Warden's voice though.  While I can't see them returning to the silent protagonist, I would gladly accept it if it meant more voice acting for the other characters and more budget towards the story.  And as far as appearance, well, maybe they stumble on to the Mirror of Transformation.  Something to think about at least.  This whole DA saga is really gripping though!  Can't wait for more! I think BioWare probably won't bring back the Warden or the Champion because they probably want new players to craft their own heroes. And either way, it's only been 9 years since DA1. A 9 year-old boy, even a special one, can't really do much at his age. And either way, the only thing you have to back up your claim of the God-Child appearing is that Sandal mentioned some guy and referred to him as a "He" and that could have been anybody. Just saying.

Though I do see the potential for a Qunari threat considering that both the Mages and Templars may weaken each other.

I'm hoping that DA returns to the origins roots and has several origins. What would make me even happier if these origins included "Hero of Ferelden" and "Champion of Kirkwall" for returning players.

DA3 will probably be in Orlais, considering that Sandal is going there and it is hinted that there is current turmoil there.

I'd love to see Varric and Cassandra return, hopefully as companions.

Your PC is a Ferelden living in Orlais. War is about to break out and when it looks like you are about to die, Flemeth swoops down (swooping is bad!) and saves your butt. The timeline of the story begins shortly after the Champion has picked up Merrill, i.e. Flemeth gets her body back.

Your PC, against all odds, rises through the ranks to become chummy with Empress Celene (where you are reunited with Sandal).

Oh and there will be some time spent in the deep roads. You'll be back the Primeval Thaig to study the corruption there.

You will have a whole new set of companions and just cameos from the DAO/DA2 crew. And every male in town will have the same voice as Riordan.

I am HOPING for a dual plot.

IE: one act you play Hawke, another act you play the Warden, and they meet up in a third/fourth/etc act and you can play whichever you choose. :) I don't know how viable this is, but it'd be awesome.

This is along the lines I was thinking.

Same. I would do terrible, terrible things for a game like that.

That's exactly what I was thinking prior to finishing the game and even more so after seeing the end scene. I would kill for that, as well.

Was Allister the only orgins character in DA2?
I
don't have much of an imagination but so the ending was good but
waiting for the next game makes it a little disappointing. Wish i had of
taken my time playing it now

Alistair, Flemeth, Leliana and Zevran all showed up.  Not to mention Isabella was also a small player in the first game.

Where? I can't remember her? Was she the fighter at the bar?

She teaches you the duelist specialization. You can play her at cards, etc.

My prediction is that I won't pre-order next time and wait for a few weeks after the game comes out to read reviews.

IDK what the plot will be but this is what I have gleaned from the story so far:

1.the maker has returned. why? A.In DAO mage origin the statue tells you that she will remain imprisoned until the maker returns. then in witch hunt the veil weakens in that area for some unknown reason and the statue says that she will not speak to your mage companion again.
2.The maker and the dread wolf of elvhen religion may well be the same entity. notice that in both religions all gods save one are trapped, the old gods for the andrastians. Both sets of gods for the elves tricked by the dread wolf the god that could move between both sets of gods as one of them. (the reason I believe for the maker's return is that one or 2 of the gods he trapped has escaped and not as a mad archdemon but as something else the old god baby {may exist despite your choices in DAO or maybe not} The star child, the child that falls from the sky in ferelden in the warden's keep starmetal event is also a possibility.Flemeth's plan may well bring the "maker" back in an attempt to thwart her plan in which morrigan is an unwitting accomplice)
3.the warden DAO/DAA will be pivotal to events because of his knowledge of the architect and and the intelligent darkspawn even if you kill him his followers and velanna's sister still go north in search of something to further their plan, which may or may not include the primeval thaig and it's contents they seek to fully establish themselves as a race and break the darkspawn from the blight cycle possibly freeing the old gods in the process.

Personally I hope they never do anything with the Maker. They've been very careful so far to be agnostic as to the existence of a creator god in the DA universe, and a lot of social commentary and debate the game introduces makes the most sense in such a setting. If the Maker is real, then debates between Morrigan and Lelliana, aren't debates anymore. They're Lelliana being right and Morrigan being stupid. The reverse is true if the Maker is shown not to exist. The Chantry is now either a sham orginazation or the true word of god.  The existence of the Maker would retroactively invalidate interpretations, viewpoints and debates in the previous two games, as well as make future games less interesting.

It would also be seen as the developers inserting their personal opinions on the validity of atheism/religion into the game, and I think the game works best when it is asking questions, not giving answers.
