Don't lie... The character models in DA2 are waaay better then those in Morrowind. (Except for those bystander models. YUCK)Tirigon wrote...

Look at the Original Morrowind and Oblivion (and FO3) as well. THOSE CHARACTER MODELS!
Eh, with mods they are a lot better than those in DA2.
And without, they are at least not worse. Which is quite much considering they´re 7 years older.

Bethesda's never made good character models. Then again, comparing a 2002 game to a 2011 game isn't really saying much.
I agree and I agree. However, Bethsoft has an awesome modding community. The "better heads" and "better bodies" mods for Morrowind for example are great, imo.

Which might have something to do with the fact that the toolsets were a lot more user friendly in Morrowind (I don't know about Oblivion)... I watched a friend using the DA:O toolset ... and it scared me.

The TES construction sets are nice and userfriendly indeed. The Oblivion set is almost like the Morrowind TES construction set. If a toolset ignoramus like I am can use them, then everyone can, lol.
Long live the modders. They've been keeping games alive since the inception of modding. Which makes the non-toolset for DA 2 even more puzzling. Unless they are afraid of losing money because of the modders in some way, shape, or form.
Which would be silly because most other games have Exp packs and add-on content, but never seem to have suffered because they offered a toolset.
Ah well, they could still be working on one for DA 2. Hope dies last.

Precisely. The fact that an 8 year old game is capable of graphics like that, while DA2 devs constantly cite engine limitations is laughable.Veracruz wrote...
Easy trolling comparing a city with a wasteland, huh?
Actually, I was comparing the starting area of DA2 to the starting area of Morrowind.
Well look at the Auroa toolset engine. Older than Morrowind and better graphics than even that mod. They made Witcher with that engine. It's years old and still saw use in 2007. Your point being?
And BTW people, male Hawke is so much better than female Hawke. You know it deep down and so do I. The only thing that comes close to beating him is Varric's chest hair.
First game released under Aurora engine - Neverwinter Nights (2002). Morrowind was released under GameBryo in 2002 as well. GameBryo is still being used today with games like Warhammer, Rift, FO3, FO:NV etc.
CD project used a heavely tweaked aurora engine when they were making Witcher. Remember those long ass loading times ? Yea thats Aurora Engine.
Get your facts straight mister.

I strongly disagree. DA's 2 faces are waaaaaaay better then, say, Oblivion's, which were absolutely horrific for their time (same goes for Morrowind's). They are also way better then say... FO3, or F:NV.

Then it looks like you OWNED your best company. If Gamebyro can be used to produce games with good graphics...why was Morrowind so ****ty in the graphics department?
Self Pwnage.
I think you'll find Gamebyro has been updated as well as do all engines that still last.

Re-read mine. You think the engine Rift is using is the same Morrowind used? It's been upgraded just like people need to upgrade their computers.

Hmm. Default faces maybe. But therefore you actually could do something with Oblivion´s face creator. In DA2 you can do so little I actually used the default face...............
