Yes, very good question and one that bioware needs to answer! How can they justify the crappy graphics of DAO and DA2 when Mass Effect 1 and 2 came out around the same time with VASTLY superior quality?

That's cause you can make prettier things with the unreal engine than you can with an in-house one.

Bioware should license the engine for TW2 for their next DA game. (if it gets made after the DA2 spectacle)

Look what CD Projekt managed with the old crusty Aurora Engine for The Witcher, the game looked great.
