Okay, as a warrior, 2 hander on Hard mode, it was a painfully long fight. Run away, buff your attacks, do a single ability, run away again, do another single ability. etc. etc. He uses about 5ish potions. I did notice he stopped using them. I'd say that the fight lasted me a good 40+ minutes of "fun" kiting. I was berserk and reaver. So it was long and annoying.

Edit:  What I "loved" about the duel is that every other hit sends you flying backwards.  Way to cut into the pace there Bioware.  Fix him just a little....

You have to manually goad him toward you and then dodge his attacks, strafe around him and flank him. Rinse and repeat.

That insta-kill attack only ever insta-killed me once as a mage. Otherwise, I got hit by it and survived. Aka, took me 2 tries.

My strategy was a lot of Winters Grasp, Cone of Cold, Glyph of Paralysis, Petrify and of course, Heal. I forgot to even use dog in this fight. Haha.

I ran around like a wimp, of course.

I just kept running in a circle, sicked the dog on em, and just kept moving. I thought on normal, that was one bad MF Boss fight. Even for a Bioware game lol

It is a terrible fight as a warrior, here i was clad in heavy armor kiting the guy for a half hour on normal. I ended up using up about ten health potions by the time i beat the guy. Oh i also had to respec my tank and re try the fight as a two hander. The whole thing was run, dodge, cleave, mighty blow, run again....

Lot of micromanagement, lot of running. Try not to think of it as dishonorable; you're technically dodging attacks with your timely retreats. Footsies!

I have to admit, the difficulty of the duel caught me completely off guard my first time through the game, as a rogue. Everything prior to that (on normal) was cake.
