How hard would it be to make a weapon that updated itself based on the player's level? I'm thinking in terms of the family sword.

It could be done pretty easily as a level-up event driven script swapping out a weapon in inventory for a higher level version (say, a different clone for every tier). It also might be possible to add custom scripts as properties/effects to make such a modification available to more than a single weapon for the scripting effort. There were problems with doing the latter in NWN but I take it that the item properties are Effects scripts now. My guess is that the community will delve in and we'll all find out shortly.
