Nature of the Beast
The Arl of Redcliffe
Broken Circle
Urn of Sacred Ashes (not so much Hard but tedious until you get to the High Dragon )
A Paragon of her Kind (not only the more difficult in regards to enemies, length, etc etc but also the most epic part of the game. I always save Orzammar for last just to be overwhelmed with how amazingly vast and intricate some of the decisions are before I go on to face destiny.)

On the Dragon Age Wiki, there is a list of "ideal order" for these main quests:
Broken Circle
Arl of Redcliffe (Village, then Castle)
Nature of the Beast
The Urn of Sacred Ashes
A Paragon of her Kind
It's based on the min-max levels of the enemies there, which shows that Bioware had a certain "storyline" they wanted people to follow based on enemy difficulty (it is irregularly effective, however. And in my case caused me to get stuck between two unwinnable fights, when i first played the game).

Here's hoping you will experience the "smooth" difficult curve Bioware intended players to experience.
