What should they apologize for. I got my moneys worth from the game.

They should definitely apologise and tell us why we should ever buy a Dragon Age series game again if they are just willing to hamstring it the next time.

The only apology I want from BioWare is a belated apology for having attracted such a spoiled and immature fan base over a decade ago with Baldur's Gate 2.

Asking for an apology when nothing else has been done than to not having met personal expectations is pathetic.

Or let me paraphrase that into an analogy: "You don't look like I imagined it and I don't like your actual face. I think you owe me an excuse for that!"

Just so you people know what you are actually doing.

$60 dollars for only 20 or so hours of gameplay and people got their money worth? Interesting indeed

I'm 30 hours in (according to savegame-time-counter) and just started the Dwarven Expedition after finishing all the other quests in town ... I believe I'm still in ACT 1 out of the 3 acts - so in my opinion, you're an idiot who rushed through the game and probably pressed "ESC" during all the conversations, and probably did other things to rush through as well.

So BioWare has nothing to apologize for... other than for having a rabidly obsessive "fan" community, but that's not their fault.

Anyways, along the same theme, directed to the OP:

Apple should apologize for charging 50% markup on their overpriced Macs
Microsoft should apologize for charging full price for Win7, when it was basically what Vista should have been
Bethesda should apologize for making Oblivion into essentially a single-player MMORPG which nobody played after 8-10 hours
Obsidian should apologize for the most clunkiest, horrible UI ever made which was the initial incarnation of NWN2
You should apologize for making this thread and wasting 10 minutes of my life.

As people are mentioning game time, my first runthrough clocked in at 38 hours. I finished every single quest I could get my hands on except the Qunari swords, the Evil Tomes and the Wounded Coast kidnapping quest which was bugged.

I still find DAO a vastly superior game.

Hm, I'm probably on a few more hours but thats irrelevant, I'll definitely replay it because my wife found some bits I did not and I want to see how the other classes play as well.

As for DAO being better...yes, in some ways it was, in others it was not. DAO felt more epic, DA2 feels smarter and with more depth though. A lot less simple black and white and a lot more grey, the spiral of Anders' paranoia, the naivity of Merrill which leads to a drama etc, the players in this story are not simple or straightforward and I appreciated that a lot.

The reusing of locales and scenery is a big miss however, I expect better from Bioware but lets not forget that DAO had plenty of that as well. I certainly feel DA 2 is worth my time and money with DAO still having a slight edge over it when I add everything up.

THIS.   I actually prefer DA2 over Origins precisely because of that aspect.

Yes, yes, but I don't. Well, atleast in my last two playthroughs. My first two attempts at my first playthrough I restarted because of various reasons (feeling I missed something / conversations not going the right way and so on). I do that quite often. So my first playthrough I had nearly everything memorized, except for the last 10% of the game. My second playthrough I didn't dwaddle, but finished as fast as poissible without missing anything so I could create another non-warrior type of character. I still came in at 30 hours. If I wanted to do a speed run I'm sure I could cut that down to 25 hours.

But that's not what these folks did. They played the game, for the first time, and some claim with doing every quest possible while completing the game in under 20 hours. Sounds fishy to me.Posted Image

To fully complete this game, completing all quests and watching all conversations in under 20 hours is quite a feat. You would have to not stop for anything... at all. So it can sound a bit fishy.

My first playthrough was roughly 30 hours, that included watching all conversations, exploring all areas, and completing every quest I could find. I could chalk up the fast completion time to some of the questing skills I've picked up being a seasoned WoW player. I get things done as efficiently as possible. It's not much different in Dragon Age 2. Pick up quests, go here, kill this, talk to this person, done. Rinse and repeat.

With my repeat plays, I clock in at about 20 hours. The only thing that's different is I skip conversations. I still explore, do all quests, and collect everything I can find.

And the moral of the story is...

No matter how hard BioWare tries, they will never be able to please everyone. Even if they gave the fans everything they asked for, someone would still find something to hate about it. Human nature.

I'm not saying that DA2 is flawless, but really, what game is?

TL/DR

Your nerdism is mind numbing. Grow some balls and get a life, go out and get laid, its just a game.

I have just logged on especially to quote this and say +1.
Although equally @BomimoDK - TL;DR.

You guys don't get more right by "jocking out" at me because you don't get my point. next time, read the argument and stop being brogamers and circlejerkers. I just want Isometric cam in a game where playing with over the shoulder cam is broken. Also i want to be able to play barbie-dress-up in a game that expects me to gear my party members. Both were there, both are gone and that's regression of gameplay "depth" yet i get told MY expectations are HIGH. i don't think that adds up since i don't whine about subjective stuff like companions and storyline. My gribes are more objective, that's all. It's a question of bad control in a game that demands full control. Unilke not being able to sex up shale, this can break a game.

This really IS my ONLY gripe and therefore i think i'm being very sensible compared to other peoples over-the-top complaints. At least my complaint does not conflict with lore or artdirection..

To the OP so all the free stuff you get just for friggin' turning up is not enough? I don't buy every game going, but I got about 6-7 free things not with pre-orders just for being on this website and then registering the game and signing up to a newsletter. I've never gotten that much free stuff pre-game before. Having just come off of Fable 3 (before a DA:O playthrough) which begged me every five seconds to buy loads of rubbish dlc like clothing for my xbox avatar I'm quite impressed with the amount of stuff Bioware gave away with this game both for pre-orders and just standard purchases.

Maybe consider making a Mass Effect 2 esque system for upcoming DLC. Give the 1st DLC out for free download for intial shipment purchasers, As an apology or showing of good faith to the comunity that for all your masking and hiding you know you have slighted.

Bioware does not owe us an appology for anything that has transpired in the last few days. Get your head out of your arse.

What a joke. You do realize most of that crap could have been made in a few hours? Also, they can re-use any unique looking items in future dlcs for npcs. Heck, if they released the construction kit we would see a few hundred such 'unique' items. So, no releasing a few nice looking items, really isnt going to turn anyones opinion.

TBH, I don't feel Bioware owes anyone an apology for the game itself. It's good for the $60 price tag. Sure, maybe not as good as DAO, at least by some people's standards, but it's still a good game. On the other hand, I do think an apology might be in order for releasing something that's closer to a beta version. Granted, I speak from the point of view of not having pre-ordered a game previously, but I'm basically never going to pre-order another Bioware game due to the fact that some very obvious bugs really detract from playability. On the console, 2 rogue abilities just don't work. Friending Isabela can basically break your game. Is this a typical thing or is this just me?

This is easily my least favorite Bioware game, but I don't see any need for them to apologize or give out any sort of makeup present.

I don't think they owe us an apology, but I do have a feeling of being wronged....

I know they released the game fast to capitalize on DAO noteriety, but come on. What I think they owe us is nothing more than what they NORMALLY deliver. I would gladly give DA2 back to them if they would work on it for another year or two. Spend some time fixing the bugs and making some unique areas. I mean, over a ten year timeframe, don't cities usually grow? Especially if they have a crap-ton of refugees thrown into their midst? Just saying...

How about some multi-class DLC armor, next time around, instead of Warrior Exlusive "Isaac's armor" and "Blood Dragon Armor". I was disappointed with all that DLC stuff when I started up my mage. It's almost as if they *want* you to play as a warrior...

Issac's Armor is for a rouge.
