Leliana, obvious reasons,

Sten, Plain badass, and literal awnsers, also leliana and sten conversations rule xD

Wynne, she's just cool, reminds me of kreia from KoTOR2, but more caring.

I'd have to say Morrigan, not because she's "hot" or because we can screw her.. But because I guess I didn't really like the other characters all that well. I absolutely LOVED the game, I just disliked some of the characters.

I hated Alistair because he's like a little whiney ****. I didn't like Oghren because well, I just don't like dwarves. Leliana got annoying because of her do goody attitude. So I guess Morrigan because she's similar to my own personality, an **** and doesn't really give a ****! The whole "kill everyone, save those that we benefit from" type of attitude!

I pretty much like all the characters, they all have their witty remarks and special moments. But I'd have to go with Leliana, there's something about red hair.

Fells like Zevran has the wrong voice though, reminds me of Puss in Boots from Shrek, and that kinda ruins it for me.

The dog I dislike so much, I've never used it in my party besides when you had to due to lack of other people. It's constant barking at camp is driving me crazy, and it wasn't until later I found out you could have killed it at the start, wish I had done that...

Wynne I like the most, she is a wise and motherly old woman but its not overdone and thats pretty much always the case. Shes really a person and I find myself rushing to her aid whenever she is in need. Her being the party healer makes her rather important to keep alive too of course.

The rest is rather average.

Morrigan and Alistar are always whining about whatever I do, Leliana is far too naive for someone of her past, Sten is too talkative for the strong silent type, Oghren is funny but kind of a stereotypical dwarf, Zhevran is too obviously homosexual and the dog and the golem dont count as partymembers to me.

I love Leliana. She's so adorable. I'm going to try to "harden" her on the next playthrough though.

Morrigan is such a grumpy fart. Everything I do, "Morrigan disapproves (-6)." I love her banter with Alistair though. Especially the one where he says she has the same nose as Flemeth and her reaction. Lawl.

I was positively surprised by Alistair. Before I got the game I thought he was meh and I'd trade him for the first warrior I'd get along the road. Turns out I kept him in my band of 4 throughout the entire game.

Other than that I like all of them.

Bann Teagan.

I have a major man-crush on this guy. I find him just so... handsome. I'm completely serious, too. Not trying to be funny. I would literally go gay for this char.

aside from my character-

1- leliana, why?

SPOILERS:

i like the "flip switch" they did on leliana and morrigan, where at first leliana is this innocent "i want to redeem the alleged evils of my past" to "the chantry was a boring place and thats not who i really was"-
ideally leliana is a hardcore killer and spy- thats who she is.
morrigan by contrast is the "poor manipulated, somewhat naieve, innocent girl, who was hardened against the world by her mother".  Morrigan talks a big game, and is not necessarily evil- but very opinionated and "get the job done".
out of the two, the one that revells in killing, but portrays innocent airs (leliana) is by far teh more interesting option of the two.

leliana does lose points however for singing that crappy elf song.

2- bukkake- (my dog)

i wish i could make him my main tank, but given his perpetually low aromor rating, thats just not feasible.

3- wynn- sten,

while not interesting, his dialogue is cool

4- morrigan-

ok- the innocent manipulated girl gets credit here- her life of bieng manipulated doesn't sit well for her though. in all honesty i would rather have flemmeth as a party member even if they gimpetd her somehow.

5- wynn-
wynn is the wizened "thrall" type, she seems to me manipulated by the horror of her origin story and that effectively built her into who she was today and gave the sense of responsibility about her and her position on the circle tower and mages.
i think had morrigan had a similar experience in her youth- she would have BEEN wynn.

i also like the fact about wynn that in conversations she isn't hard and fast "this is what i like" she admits when she is wrong in dialogue- you can be an ass or not- regardless.

6- zeveran-
ok, not really liking elves here, but at least hes not some tree hugging hippie.

7- alistair- i haven't unlocked oghren or shale yet, but i'm willing to bet dollars to doughnuts this clown comes in dead last-
playing the human noble origin i would rather play with art howe on my squad than this pansy- it makes it all the worse that he is a good tank character.
i'm sorry, but 20-30 year old males who don't lose thier virgininty should just have thier nuts chopped off since they are obviously lacking in the social skills in some crucial department and the preservation of the gene pool against such socially inept people takes presedence-

besides- allistair the eunich would give him a combat boost.

EDIT:

actually add in isabella at 2.5. I would prefer to have her as a party member to sten or alistair (well i think the pig in the "surprise me" option would be a better option than him).

I think, maybe, Sten.  I get a kick out his dialogue.  He is very blunt and I find  the things he finds approval in, amusing.  ie- after a quest Sten criticised my tactics.  I asked if he could do better and he said yes.  Then the conversation ended and I got approval from him. He's like the Shaquil Oneil of fantasy.Posted Image

So far (haven't gotten Oghren or Wynne yet) my favorite character is Allistair because he reminds me of myself somewhat.

SPOILERS, since I'm asked why I like the character and need to give an example:

Alistair is the best character. His emotions fit very well with the story. I guess it just comes across as whining if you don't identify with your character much. Considering that my Cousland's family was killed and his plan for revenge went up in smoke after King Cailan and Duncan's death, plus Fergus was lost with no way of finding him... I'd say the young Cousland was close to tears. It WAS horrible, so I was in complete agreement with Alistair at that point and found his emotional state appropriate to what just happened.

And really, no matter what you decide your character feels, Alistair either serves as a good reflection or a good foil to emphasize your character's beliefs and attitudes.

Sten. The moment that settled it for me was:

SPOILER:

when he tries to take over the party because he feels getting the urn is off task. After you fight him, he actually apologizes, admits he's wrong, and gets back in line. And I got approval for it as well.

Also, his dream sequence in the fade was pretty cool. He was the only one who saw through it

<< Arabethe - my PC I have become quite attached to her.

Then - the NPC's

Leliana - really have become fond of her, and her voice.
Zeveran - he amuses me - fun to keep around.
Morigan - I like her style and attitude -
Alistair - Not a fan at all, but since he was a warden I felt I needed to keep him with me.

Three of those four made up my normal group.

Sten intrigues me, and on my next play through, I think he will be one of main party members.
The rest - ehh, maybe I just did not give them a chance.

Tough call, so many of the Origin characters (ala Gorim, the Couslands) really touched me when playing through the Origins.

Companion wise, I'd have to say Dog. Despite the fact all he can say is "Bark!" he's one funny little chap and some of the best companion interactions/dialogues are between Dog and others. <3

Wynne is an extremely comforting presence, and her heals are just an incredible bonus to a party. There is a mesmerizing quality to the stories she tells, like a wise aunt sitting down to talk with you while she gardens.

Alistair has an aw-shucks way about him that reminds me of a well-intentioned but nervous first high school romance or something. You get the sense that he is a work in progress as far as self-confidence goes. But he has a good heart- and an adorable accent, god help my PC. His devotion to Duncan is heartwarming.

Can't stand Morrigan. I only did her romance the once with one of my chars to see her interactions. Neutral Evil? Don't know. The irritation with any good deed we perform is unsettling.

For NPCs that join your group, easily Morrigan. <3 Claudia Black

For NPCs that can't join your group, Gorim from the Dwarf Noble origin story is absolutely hysterical.

Oops! Didn't see this thread before I wrote a new thread about Wynne and why she's my favorite. http://social.biowar.../9/index/220327

For a "bit player" that I really like, the PC's sister in the dwarf commoner origin is a great character. I was so disappointed with who she ended up with romantically!!! booo. I want to save her.

I also REALLY like Duncan. Bioware did a fantastic job with the characters in this game. I think it's the best part of the game, actually.

I love Leliana, she's adorable and her voice is cute as hell!

I like Alisters comedic quips, ditto Shale's outbursts.

Morrigans cute, but I don't like her grumpy attitude.

Sten, Wynne and Oghren I don't really know at all. :(

Zevhren I dislike for trying to kill me. :bandit:

I loves me some Orrus o' course.

<---

Morrigan has an amazing dark sense of humor and the way she rips on Alistair is great.

Shale might be the best thing in the whole game.

After opening up some new conversations with Sten, I am surprised at how much I'm starting to like him. (Originally I just dismissed him as an annoying, monosyllabic douche.)

I think this may be the first RPG in which I've liked all the party NPCs. My favorite is currently a tie between Wynne, Sten, and Shale. The awkward friendship conversations with Sten and Shale where they can't quite bring themselves to admit that you might not suck are the most adorable things ever :)

King Cailan! Could you imagine having him in your party...aside from the whole getting squished by an Ogre part? Sheer awesome.

My usual party consists of Alistair (the best friend), Leilana (sweet romantic interest), Wynn (nurturing mother type)...however, I toss Shale or Morrigan in there from time to time. They can be pretty humorous, even if I don't always agree with them. Alistair is the most humorous to me and I identify the most with him.

Great, vivid characters with amazing interaction and development. This is really where Bioware succeeds on such high levels.
