Just started my game this evening after work. Popup came up claiming there is a patch available for download. Has anyone installed it as of yet? Is it actually for the Mac? Little apprehensive to install it as of yet... Other then some issues with a pick axe quest my wife had with her character, I haven't had any problems (that I am aware of) other then some graphics glitching during a certain Qun encounter with a lot going on.

I just got the patch too. I'm guessing it's supposed to fix stability issues. Bioware released a PC-only beta patch a few days ago to fix some pretty bad bugs. Maybe this is the Mac equivalent? Unfortunately, I can't find a changelog or a news post or anything to confirm my theory...

Well, I installed it anyway. It doesn't seem to have broken anything as far as I can tell.

Thanks Rycr. That is what I needed to hear. Will install it. I haven't had ANY stability issues here on my Mac Pro. In fact I have been very happy.

I tried on three occasions to load dragon age II for the mac, and on all three occasions the game started up before the download completed. I don't think the download continues if the game starts up, so the patch never finishes downloading.

Ah, I just found that!  Man, they buried the patch notes deep.  Well, okay, Cider is what did the burying, but still...

At any rate, I never had any of these issues.  Runs smooth as silk on my Macbook Pro.  However, it won't even unlock on my top-of-the-line gaming PC, and the PC version of this patch didn't fix it... :crying:

Thanks - I just got the prompt myself and went ahead and downloaded it, but boy, the notes are buried. :) Good to know.

Silly me.. I tried to follow the instructions in the sticky that say to download the patch.. and then link to a .exe. Too bad BW's post doesn't indicate the Mac version will prompt for download of the patch...

For those who had trouble downloading and installing, perhaps someone could post a link.  The link that was posted in this Mac technical forum in a different post was for Windows only, not Mac.

Okay -- I rebooted, and the 5th attempt to use the auto-download / installer worked. I am now patched up to 1.01. I am using an early 2009 Mac Pro with two separate 2.93 processors and Snow Leopard 10.6.6.

I notice my game is A LOT smoother after this patch. I was putting up with half a second lag or so and highly annoying choppiness... just so I could use the high graphic setting. It still doesn't run as smoothly as the low graphics, but it is very tolerable.

I seem to notice it being a bit smoother as well. Might be placebo though.

^ That's what I was thinking too. In my quest to find something that this patch affected I might have fooled myself into thinking it was running smoother.
