The voices in the demo are very muted; I can barely hear them. Even when toning down music and effects volume, voices remain barely audible. I have to turn off music and crank up the volume on my speakers to nearly max to get a reasonable voice volume.

Might this be because it's a demo and it'll go away with the full game? Note: My audio is integrated, and no new drivers for it exist. But I have never, ever had a major sound problem in any other game including DAO.

also noticed this in the full game, but only in the opening act. didn't noticed it later on.

might have to do with the camera positioning in the dialog scene.
