Hey guys,
I'm working on a mod that I want to keep self-contained (not change the single player campaign resources directly) but I'm trying to find a way to only use some of the preloaded character generation process.
Ultimately I want to be able to enter all the starting abilities, class, gender and background as standard for the module's Hero, but I'd like players to still have control of morphing their own appearance and entering a name.
Is this actually possible?

The Background / Origin tutorial shows how to configure race, background and starting abilities.
If you need even more control over abilities, that can be scripted.
I suspect you can restrict gender using the Playable flag in the gender 2DA, but I haven't tested that.

If you use a custom class you have to go through chargen otherwise it won't work.
There is also no way to change the characters appearence (hair, colours, facial features) outside chargen.
You can change the head morph in a save game but there is no function as of yet to do that via script.
In my module I have only one class and background but have to go through chargen nonetheless.
Yes, that is fairly simple just set the playable flag in gender gda to 0 for every gender you don't want selectable. I use that in my module as well. There is only a female character possible so male is set to 0.
