So, ahem. Any parts of your story do you hope Varric left out?

Sure, Varric exagerated some things here and there, but he had an equally important role.

Covering up any of those less-than-admirable moments.

Like that time I dueled the Arishock on my own. Two handed swordman, just carved up a great load of dead Qunari. Launched a mighty blow right on his chest, and...

Dink! Nearly bounced off his chest.

I had so many points in my consitution, and everything else but strength, that you could barely register chip damage with my most powerful abilities. It didn't help that I had neglected all the 'boost damage by X%' skill trees, so I was only dealing base damage and less. So a really, really long fight followed, in which I was just barely not breaking even in terms of maintaining my health with my devour skill from the Reaver. Took nearly/over a half hour to beat him, with only one close call (a couple of consecutive criticals), during which I ran screaming around the throne room until I could chug another potion.

Hopefully Varric just sort of glossed that part over, and emphasized my stamina instead of complete lack of upper body strength. I have a reputation to keep as a warrior, damn it.

Anyone else?

I would hope he left out the part about me slaughtering all of the dalish because i made a poor choice in words with them. I'm no elf lover but doesn't mean i'm for the abject slaughter of them.

Yes I hope he left the sex out of the scenes and that it was actually there. Posted Image

Well, there was that one time when Bartrand slaughtered the entire team, leaving only Mage Hawke standing. Had to run in circles up and down the staircases to avoid getting hit, summoning the dog and mind blasting him to transfer threat. I chipped away at him with spells until he noticed me again or killed the dog, then mind blasted and repeated the whole thing until he finally died...

Not my finest moment, but hey, a win is a win, right?

I like to imagine him making lewd gestures as he recounts the dirty parts.

Varric: so hawke and isabella went into the bed room and started...

Cassandra: how is this relevent?

Varric: It's SUPER relevent!

Cassandra: alright....

Varric: and then hawke did this thing with his elbow like this....

Cassandra: ENOUGH!

That little tryst I had with the Arishok. (It was simply research, I'm telling you...)

Oh and all those times when most of us died so Varric ran around arms flailing like a muppet through the streets of Kirkwall until he could chug another potion, let go another barrage of skills, then rinse repeat until everyone was finally dead. Giving me the credit was so very nice of him. I'm sure the flailing muppet arms would have translated very well into tale...

I'm very glad he apparently cleaned up my fumbling awkwardness whenever I tried to talk to Merrill. I think he actually managed to make it sound like she was the awkward one and I was all suave.

Any time my warrior Hawke charged heroically at a mob of enemies, only to get stuck in a bear trap halfway there.

The Arishok fight - my mage Hawke ran around the room, summoning his trusty hound to keep the giant at bay while he got a few pot shots off. When Barkwall had too much to handle, he vanished and Hawke resumed running around the room. Rinse and repeat. It was a long, long fight.

My creepy friend Fenris who for some sick reason has a perfectly preserved corpse as a sword stand right inside the front door of his house for six years. A house that he fails to even remotely "tidy up" (not being hysterical - basic corpse and cobweb removal will be just fine) in same six years.

.....and the " Arishock run" as well :)

I'm pretty sure Varric left ALL of the GOOD parts of his entire story out....

My hope is that he exaggerated a bit here.

"And the champion managed to get laid twice in seven years" just isn't very inspiring.

I hope he left out any thing relating to "The Blooming Rose".

Some legends are best left untold.

Actually you can bed all your love interests in one play through i'm pretty sure. I always flirted to get +friendship and was able to bed merril Isabela and Fenris. Didn't try for Anders cause well i hate that guy.

I guess that would explain why the scenes are 'fade to black'. Posted Image
For me, I think the way my Hawke was running around the room trying to stay out of the Arishok's range while pecking away with my staff at his health.  I wasnt' worried he would do enough damage to kill my mage, just it's hard to fight when you are being repeatedly slammed into the tiles.
Not very dignified of a 'legend'.

The part where Hawke had a mental breakdown after Anders blew up the chantry and everyone waited around for a good hour or so before Hawke decided what to do.

I think the Arishok duel is going to be a, ah, highlight of unheroic action for most everyone but a very well equipped 2-hand Reaver.

I had a real face to face duel with my reaver. My mage... not so much.

I hope Varric came up with something better than "And Hawke ran in circle for a good half hour throwing snowballs at the Arishok. After the first 5 minutes everyone rather tired of the whole affair. Merrill and Isabella created a masterful statue of the dread nug Schmooples made entirely of cheese. After awhile the Arishok died of a deep sadness derived from his inability to actually hit Hawke, who was running as fast as her coward mage legs could take her. Hawke was then named Champion of Kirkwall, but was thenceforth better known Sissy McSissypants the 5th."

Similar situation the OP.

I hope Varric glossed over how my blood mage spent most of the fight running away from the Arishok while waiting for winter's grasp to cooldown.
