 Does anyone know what happens to Anders should you side with the Templars and chose to spare him? It seems rather incongruent, really, what with Sebastian throwing a tantrum on my ears, and still lose my main healer. Thanks for anyone that takes one's time to respond ^^

He comes back to fight you after you get the choice to spare some mages after the first battle in the chantry. You can talk to him but even at full friend I was unable to get him to come back to my side and had to kill him.
