His Panacea takes 40% of the mana pool, if I also activate Heroic Aura and Elemental weapons, thats 70% of his mana reserved. Do you just accept that with him as a mage you can't use other sustained abilities, or just minimise the number of spells you use? Should I be putting a lot of points into willpower to make up for it?

Only activate panacea when you need it which for the most part will only be for the most difficult fights. After using it's spells just deactivate it.

Panacea is never worth activating except to use aid allies and revive. After that you're honestly better off just turning it off. The range is too small and the healing is very insignificant.

The only time I actually could take benefit from the healing aura of Panacea was during the Ancient Rock Wraith, when you're dodging the LoS AoE thing he does. Beyond that, only use it when you need to GHeal or Revive.

Ok, thanks all. That makes a lot of sense

Set up his tactics to use Panacea when two or three memebers are under 50% health, that's what I did so he can shoot off that Group heal, then make another tactic that turns Panacea off when two members are >=90% health.
Worked for me.
