Hey all, I'm sorry if this was already posted, but I couldn't find anything in regards to this...
If I were to choose to stay solo in DA2, does the amount of experience gained increase for Hawke, or is the experience normalized so as to be consistent no matter the party size?

I am not sure about XP, but Hawkes health bar is increased by a huge amount if you are solo. As far as I can tell, it scales based on how many are in your party. Good question though, I am curious about that myself.

I sure hope someone can confirm/deny this for us, then
I've played through twice now, and I think it's time for a solo nightmare run, and I doubt level 24 (my highest level I've reached on my mage) will cut it solo.

That's just the visual depication. The actual value doesn't change.
There's only a certain amount of screen space given for your parties HP and Mana/Stamina bars. So, whichever character has the most of either stat, that character's bar will reach the area limitation. All other bars will be represented as a percentage of the highest bar.
For example, say Aveline has 500 HP, which is the highest of anyone's HP or M/S. Her HP bar will stretch the length of the alotted screen space. Now, Hawke has, say, 250 HP. This'll be represented in a bar that's half the size of Aveline's HP bar.
