If I remember correctly, the ending said that the champion and the "hero of ferelden" somehow disappeared (along with your LI from DA2). So, what do you think happened to them and where do you think they went?
Back to Ferelden?
Another continent?
Captured by darkspawn/demons?
Narnia?
White castle?
Trapped in the fade somehow?
What are your theories?
What do you think happened to Hawke and our Warden? (Ending spoilers)

They ran off to Orlais to eat stinky cheeses and prepare for the final conflict between Orlais and Ferelden.

I have a theory that Flemeth snatched him up for her own purposes.

I think Flemeth happened to the Champion and The Warden. Flemeth came to them after they finished their tasked and informed them of what was to come and they went with her to prepare for it.

Hawke and Merrill ran off after screwing over the chantry with Mahariel in pursuit with a great dalish rage.

I'd have to say Hawke left to go dick around in some other place after Kirkwall rejected him because of all the crap he did and who knows what the Grey Warden is up to, he never talked he's probably in some library because his silence is accepted there.

I think Flemeth happened. If I'm not mistaken I think Maric went missing also which I believe had to do with Flemeth also.

I want to say Hawke,Merill and Isabela are sailing around Thedas.Fun in the sun.
But I think BW is putting hot irons to Hawkes feet in a dungeon somewhere.

The mass effect 3 ending writer got involved. Hawke and the Warden both spontaneously embarked on a ship which stranded them on an island. No one knows why, not even them.

More than likely, there is Flemeth involvement ... Only logical reason for two distinct people to go missing in the same way

Perhaps Hawke and Warden Amell went to have a cheerful family reunion... while searching for Flemeth because according to Morrigan, she's the hidden threat of the franchise. I assume they went to investigate whatever the Warden found at the eluvian (assuming the Warden didn't go into the mirror with Morrigan).

Hawke and Merrill went into the heart of the Brecilian Forest, rebuilt the Eluvian, had lots of kids together, practiced magic freely, then went through the portal to try and seduce Morrigan, and failed miserably.

Hawke and the Warden were both killed by Flemeth.

If this is what they do to both characters we built up....damnit. All I can see is the intro to DA3 as both being killed..just so bioware has a easy way out of dealing with them again. I just can't see after the Warden beat Flemeth before being so powerful fall to her like some cump...that would crawl all over me and it makes me think that I should wait to see what DA3 will be after others have played it. This go around I will take the watch and see and then see if I will consider getting the 3rd game. The only preorder I would place on this game if I would get to play the Warden again and I know thats not going to happen..so, see and wait game for me.

There was some comments from BW that your Warden and Hawke could make cameos in DA3. Obviously, we don't know who and to what extent they'll be around, but that leaves me to believe they are off doing something, and not about to die. It'd be pretty sweet though to go to the deep roads and find your warden in their calling, and they could recount their tale to you based on your saved game data.
I think Hawke is hiding, and the Warden is investigating something related to either Morrigan or the blights.

Something important if both of them have disappeared. Maybe something to do with what the Grey Wardens were looking into? Or the threat of those Ancient Magisters coming back? I dunno, I'm looking forward to finding out though!

In my most recent playthrough of Origins (which I completed today!) ... my mage sold Connor's soul to the desire demon in favor of augmenting her powers and learning blood magic.
Coincidently, just as the Warden and Hawke dissapear, so does Connor according to the end game of Origins.
So while I can't speak for Hawke, I've decided that one of two things happened to this Warden. Either she decided that she and the desire demon/Connor had unfinished business, or vice versa.

my thoughts & predictions, lacking any evidence to back them up:
-- Chantry is full of $%^^&. I don't buy their Maker or Darkspawn origin stories.
-- Ancient elves entombed Old Gods, of which Flemeth is one, freed somehow.
-- Humans wrecked ancient Arlathan, which is related somehow to the black city. (maybe black city = Arlathan)
-- Ancient elves then create darkspawn curse on humans, in similiar fasion to DAO's werewolf curse.
-- DA3: there are Arlathan survivors, who are planning how to get around the 'Grey Warden Solution' to the darkspawn curse, wanting to kill off the humans.
-- DA3: Warden, Hawke are off trying to stop the horrible things the Arlathan survivors are doing. (Maybe this is in the fade, if black city = Arlathan?)
-- DA3: Flemeth and god baby are scheming to manipulate the situation in order to free the remaining Old Gods and regain control of the world (assuming the old gods were once in control)
-- DA3: Mages and Chantry continue their squabble, but it's not the "true threat".
speculations!

I don't think that Flemeth killed either of them at the end. I think she came to them in their dreams telling them where to hide, and then they are never found again.

I think Flemeth enlisted the Warden, Hawke and the Architect(if you let him live that is) for whatever she was planning. I never really figured her for someone to simply leave loose ends like them behind, especially when they have so much potential to be used as tools(I know that sounds wrong but it seems like something Flemeth would think given how Morrigan acts)... Would be an interesting conversation if the Warden, Hawke and the Architect were having tea and cakes with Flemeth and possibly the next protagonist for DA3

Actually they said the God-baby probably won't make an appearance in DA3 given it was an option for people to take in DAO and not everyone took it, though would be interesting to see the god-baby play a role in a future installment!
