Alas, I think it's just Bioware's way of letting us know we won't see/play them again. :/

Merrill and my apostate Hawke are together, while he's following Anders' suggestion: "You truly are the leader we've been waiting centuries for." He wants to overthrow the templars, by any means necessary.
I think Morrigan and The Warden won't be happy that Merrill and Hawke 'revived' Flemeth from the dead.

I think Flemeth is involved in Warden's an Hawke's dissapereance, since both characters were saved by the witch. It is no coincidence.

Hawke and Merrill went into the heart of the Brecilian Forest, rebuilt the Eluvian, had lots of kids together, practiced magic freely, then went through the portal to try and seduce Morrigan, and failed miserably.

If you run into Alistair in DA2 he always mentions either, he owes a friend that much..referring to the Warden. Or, it belonged to an old friend, but I think she would want you to have it. Referring to an amulet during Qunari invasion.
And in the comics Alistair is off in Antiva doing something.
Does anybody look for Warden, or Hawke? Besides the Seekers! Is any one of the so called friends and lovers even wondering..what the heck happened? Is no one concerned. Especially the lovers that should actually still be with them?

Absence of information doesn't mean it confirms that nobody else is looking for them. The Warden could have disppeared after Alistair left for Antiva as far as we know.
Despite Varric telling her that Hawke is probably no dead, Cassandra is sure that both disappearances are connected. This mean that Cassandra have a lot more information than we do and it point toward recent Heroes/Champions have disappeared. This doesn't sound like it is related to the Templars vs Mages war, but it sound like something that is related to the Silent Grove plot thread.
Also, as far as we know, there is only another Hero known in Thedas in 9:40: the Hero of Orlais aka Cassandra Pentaghast.

yeah. That was my point. I would like to know. There's no mention that I've come across of this very peculiar situation besides that coming from the Seekers.
I would like to know if they're even aware of it.
Perhaps, that has something to do with whatever secret mission the Wardens were on in DA2. When they showed up in Kirkwall during Qunari invasion. Although, what brought them to Kirkwall during this secret mission.......
I would think the Wardens would, of all groups, be trying to find out where one of their Commanders got to. They're not a group that seems to want let go easy.

The Seekers seeking the Warden and hake right? If the Warden is a mage, he/she is from the Circle, his/her phylactery is in Denerim, why not use it to track him/her down?
Or maybe the excuse is his/her blood is tainted, therefore they cannot use it
