 In your honest opinion which was better due to the characters and the problem they had to take part in.

The Bastard Templar Prince, A Witch of the Wilds, Bard-turned-Chantry Sister, Sten of the Quanri, Your Mabari Hound, an Old Spirit Connected Circle Mage, A Drunken Family-Man Dwarf, The Sex-Loving Assassin, A Moving Female Statue, and the Jackass Traitor who helped the Hero of Ferelden conquer the blight...

or

An Apostate Sister/Knucklehead Brother, Manliest Dwarf Ever, ****ty Pirate, Formerly Happy Terrorist Freedom Fighter Mage, Captain of justice the Guard, a JRPG Superman with Angst, Weird Forest Girl Who Likes Blood, Demons, and Mirrors, Your Mabari Hoiund, or Cliche DLC Religious Prince to help the Champion of Kirkwall, stop a Quanri Invasion, and try to halt the war between Mages and Templars?

Which team do you like?

And finally, for fun; Out of all these characters, make a party of five.

They all have their ups and downs I suppose, but I prefer the DA2 party.

I like both parties equally for different reasons but if I had to pick five companions out of the two parties I'd go with: Leliana, Varric, Zevran, Isabela and Anders. Could you just imagine those conversations?

DA2. I love DAO's team, but DA2 comes out on top.

Oghren, Fenris, Morrigan, Sebastian, and Zevran. The party banter would be too much for words.

Because apparently that's what this is becoming, if I had to choose 5 it would be Merrill as the only blood mage who isn't utterly insane, also for the cuteness requirement. Sten for the sheer awesomeness of a qunari. Anders, for the rebel part of me. Varric, sheer awesomeness. Shale for pigeon hating awesomeness. I also think there would be some hilarious new nicknames, Varric would make them for the old crew, Shale would make them for the new crew.

Honestly, I prefer the new group just because it's something new. Aside from Anders, who really isn't the same person anyway, I don't completely know any of them.

As a whole, I think I prefer the DAO team. But that's largely because I have nothing but contempt for Fenris and Sebastian. Cut those two fellows out, though, and I'd have a really hard time deciding.

I really don't think I could pick a set party of five from them all. There's so many potentially hilarious combinations, like Morrigan and Merrill, or Zevran and Aveline, or Varric and Oghren.

The Origins party was top heavy like KotOR's. A handfull of great and notable characters and then a bunch of fodder behind. DA2's has more depth but none are as good as Alistair and Leliana. I can't really pick one over the other.

Here would be my top 5: Leliana, Alistair, Isabela, Varric, and Merrill. My two bro's, my two ho's, and the cutest damn thing DA has ever seen.

Alistait was the best companion, hands down. Overall cast though, if i had to take one or the other as a group, i would say DA2 stands out more, ever so slightly.

I would probably do like leggywillow and make team harem.

DA2's cast is stronger overall, so I'll give it the edge. As for picking 5: Morrigan, Isabela, Alistair, Varric, Merrill.

I could totally see that conversation and then of course from my saves there would have to be a conversation between Isabela, Leliana and Zevran about the prowess of Hawke and my Warden because you know Leli would be curious once she found out that Isabela and Zevran have slept with both.

Canine: Dog = Dog

DAO: 5
DA2: 3

Or something.

Edit: Team of five would probably be Isabela, Sten, Varric, Merril, and Fenris, which heavily favours DA2

i think some of the DAO chars where more developed, in particualr i'm referring to Morry, Alistair and Leliana

prob between the 2 i go with DAO, even if there are some DA2 chars i reaaaally like

I'm not done with DA2 yet (I was very far in act 2 but went back to act 1 because of rivalmance ISSUES.. ahem anyway)

This is hard:

Alistair
Varric (double points if he's a romance option.)
Merrill ( she . is . so . cute . )
Anders
Leliana (Ugh I am a sucker)

Whatever I'll just take points in spirit healer.  I do miss Zevran.  It would be nice to just do it without the mess.

Fenris is waiting at home, keeping the bed warm.

Can I just add that Garrus V. is still my favorite companion of all time? (wrong forum!)
