I like Origins crew more, they are full of life and color but most companion in DA2 is amazing.

I liked them both, though DA2 had more characters I wound up appreciating more. Isabela just made me die of laughter every time she opened her mouth. Would've loved to see some banter between her and Leliana beyond the Sebastian quest. In Origins, I hated Alistair (I preferred Loghain much more); wasn't a fan of Zevran, and am one of the few who cared nothing for Sten or Shale. I wasn't too fond of Dog either, since there was hardly any interaction with him outside of a few small cutscenes.

I prefer the DA2 team. While I loved the Origins party members, I found the new characters far more fascinating.

Varric, Sebastian, Isabela, Fenris, and Shale. I'd throw in the DA2 dog, too, since it's not reeeally a companion.

Morrigan - Pretty Powerful,could help me survive although Flemeth would be after us possibly.
Varric - Crafty clever man, and he knows a bit Dwarf Culture and the Merchant Guild.
Fenris - Knows of the Qun, smart and clever, and is the only who holds info about the Tevinter Imperium really, although Magisters may be after us.
Anders - Although the world may want him dead, his information about Spirit/Demon possession is invaluable
Sten - Loyal Soldier, and Funny.

i'm not that sure she doesnt like Flameth at all... she want to kill her because she thinks she will possess her, she is indeed pretty critique with Flameth but as it is said in the game... prob not even Morry know how to see her... if a mother or a rival, prob both of them

They were both great teams and I loved the characters from both games. My teams would be:

Those 5 together would be an all-star team.

Overall I like both parties equally; Morrigan just happens to be my favourite character.

Definitely the DA2 team for me. I was neutral towards most of the squad in DAO - I liked some things about them, didn't like other things, but nothing so much that could make them favorites of mine, and in most cases, not even enough to hate them. It's easier for me to play an "evil" character who kills off companions in DAO when the only one I would be sad to lose is Dog (who will survive every playthrough). I thought the DA2 team was great. I like most of the characters and romance options, and I have a few favorites. The Awakening team is much closer to DA2 than Origins.

It has to be Origins

I loved Alistair (his just that perfect guy) and it had the best characters of Sten, Shale and Morrigan even Oghren grew on me.
DA2 the characters didnt really grab me. Fenris interested me at the start as did Ander's but towards the end I had heard it all and was over the brooding and constent you must choose a side. They just didnt have the heart but it could also be that I didnt really connect with Hawke either.

Overall, though, I prefer the DA2 companions. They were heaps more interesting, and I felt more connected to them.

Huge edit, deleted a lot that I said earlier.

I think the companions are pretty comporable.

There are more characters from Origins that are my absolute favorites (Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana), but DA2 follows closely behind with Varric, and slightly behind that Anders and Merrill.

I think if there had been time to give the DA2 team as much dialogue conversations with Hawke as the Origins characters had with the Warden, then they would have been very fantastic.

As it is, they are both comporable, but I would give the edge to Origins because I got to learn more about them.

Oh I'm not sure. They were all perfect in their own ways. Though the five best written and most outstanding to me are :

Morrigan, Shale, Varric, Anders, Alistair.

They can snark at one another all day long as I giggle like a mad woman.

To be honest I think the characters in Origins were more agreeable. The most debate about them was whether to hate or love Morrigan. With DA 2, however, people are firmly for or agaist all of them or most of them. I'm not sure if it makes them better or worse. Maybe it just makes us opinionated?

Seems we had two different writers for each game. One one hand the characters in DA: O are easier to connect with, on the other hand the Characters in DA 2 make us question our own morals and personalities. Two very different types of writing. But they're both good. Both are favorites.

There is something about Claudia Blacks voice, that just gets me, so morrigan is in my party everytime !

Apart from that, Isabella (aka Jugs), Alistair, Sten and Varric.

when it came down to it origins, there's is no one i dislike on origins. DA2 had a grate cast but i cant stand carver. to much of an ass to his mom and bro/sis.

the team i would go with is Alister, Sten, Varric, Bethany and pre-DA2 anders.

So, team of 5 eh?
Fenris, Sten, Varric, Zevran, Bethany ...and Miss Hawke (over the Grey Warden, any day )

Fenris and Sten would quietly discuss the Qun... once Sten mellows down a bit. This would possibly cheer Fenris up and make life a bit more bearable for Sten until our epic quest is over and he can go back to Par Vollen.
Varric and Zevran would make light of  anything and everything around them.

Miss Hawke's cheerful nature would eventually overcome Fenris' broodiness and innocent young Bethany would worm her way into the assassin's heart.

The recounting of this epic tale of love would win Varric truckloads of gold, a harem of beautiful women and a nice set of upgraded bolts for Bianca.
