Hello
I just bought DA2 yesterday and have yet to be able to get into it. Heres my problem. If I try to watch the opening movie the game will freeze and crash. So I skip it, but then if I try to watch the second movie the game will freeze and crash, so I skip that too. Now I,ve decided to come here for help or just wait til the first patch comes out if nobody here can help me. Anyone else experience this at all?
I got about an hour into the game last night and had no idea what was going on as I had to skip every cut-scene in order to keep playing lol.
-Thank you
Cut-scene=Crash

I installed the game yesterday and had the same problem. I resolved it by upgrading to the latest nVidia drivers.

I'm having the exact same problem. I get past the loading screen, and two seconds after the first movie starts *someone getting dragged through a hallway* the game stops and crashes. I've got the latest patch (1.02) already installed, and while I can't play it in high-res, my system is well within the parameters of playability.

I did that too, thinking that would help. No luck on that either, in my case.

Not happy about this; can't seem to get answers anywhere. I've got a game I can't frakking play on a system that's more than capable of handling it.

So am I. This is irrelevant as the notebook manufacturer would have used either an nVidia or ATI display adapter. They usually stick something on the laptop to tell you. If they haven't, take a look at Display Adapters under Device Manager. For example, my Toshiba laptop has a NVIDIA Geforce GT 330M.
If your display adapter is listed as an Intel your laptop won't meet the minimum spec.
If your display adapter is an nVidia, yes. If it's an ATI go to the ATI website. Use the drop down lists on either site to select your specific equipment.jables86 wrote...

Calm down and breathe. Unless there's a big Bioware under trhe pic the people answering your questions are just other users. Been too busy getting my butt kicked by the Arishok to come in here.
