as for GoA and WH, I didn't find anything specific to those two DLC's in my save import to the game. Except we have a name for the mirror that Tamlen discovered which is revealed in WH and repeated in DA2. There might be more impact on someone else's save but my warden didn't go into the mirror with Morrigan.

Well, sparing Nathaniel Howe and making him a GW (and him surviving the game) will trigger a side quest in DA2 that takes your PC into the deep roads looking for him (his sister asks you to). I don't think even turning Anders over to the Templars in Awakenings changes what happens in DA2 so I guess that wouldn't hold much water. And Nate is bugged as no matter whether you spared the Architect or killed him, he says the Architect lived.

Didn't Duncan give a name to the mirror in the Dalish Elf origin? I could have swore he did.
Nothing from GoA or WH was imported, as far as I can tell. I figured GoA wouldn't have any effect but I was at least expecting something from WH. I guess they're saving that for DA3.

I think the Nate bug is an import bug - he's not supposed to be there if you killed the Architect. You get a Deep Roads quest to find 3 dwarves instead.
That;s why he's always saying the Architect is alive. That works properly, its just that the import bugged, and registered a living Architect.

There's a minor reference to Stone Prisoner. Ferelden's pigeon population has taken a nose dive.

There is no reason to import a game.

Unless you want to get a specific assortment of choices. Which is, and should be, the entire reason for imports. Not extra content.Foolsfolly wrote...
Shale reference happens in the vanilla game without an import. I used the default Hero of Fereldan at the character creation and got the Shale reference and Nathaniel Howe.

Hero of Fereldan doesn't put Bhelen on the Orzammar throne, for example. Nor does it recognize the Hero of Fereldan as an Amell (actually none of the imports do).

Are you sure he's not supposed to be there if the Architecht was killed? The Dragon Age 2 official guidebook says the 3 dwarves quest is only supposed to appear if Nathaniel died at Vigil's Keep, was executed or never recruited as a Warden.TJPags wrote...

Its probable the default hero of Fereldan includes recruited Shale.

Default Hero of Fereldan gets you the one if Nathaniel was never recruited or was killed.

Maybe the Architect surviving is something they overrode for the sake of the plot of DA3, such as how Anders surviving and Leliana going back to the Chantry happen regardless of your actions in DA:O.
